Sam needs a Free Action to switch his firing mode from FA to SA. It looks like he has the action to spare, so that's fine.

The drone is hard to see (dim light, -3). Sam's thermo vision shifts that up to -1, at which point it recombines with range (Medium, -1) to make it -3 again. In addition, the RG2 optional rule gives a -1 modifier to hit a small drone, so Sam's at -4.

Subtracting dice from drone-shooting: 4d6t5 2 hits, which leaves Sam with 5 hits

The good news is that dog-brain drones don't dodge for drek. Drone dodge: 3 hits

That leaves Sam with 2 net hits, which stages the damage up to 11P -6AP.

Drone soak: 1 hit

There's a pleasant KABOOM as Sam hits the target and sees it begin to plummet to the ground. It will hit the ground in about 3 CTs, so watch where you're walking around then.



11 - the troll on the right flank

This guy is going batshit. He's either forgotten the instructions to take the prisoners alive, or he's conveniently ignoring it, or he figures Rozkhi is toast so who cares. He's charging Sam!

Free: Running
Complex: Beat Sam to death!

Troll rage! 7 hits, this guy is screaming like a banshee and is obviously not in his right mind

He also punches like a jackhammer. Base damage is 13P + net hits. No AP at least. Up close, Sam can also see a combat axe strapped to his back. Evidently this guy is so far out of his mind that he didn't draw it, or is angry enough about getting shot that he wants to finish matters with his bare hands.

Sam's tree-cover doesn't apply to his defense but I'm going to say that the process of taking cover involved getting up from a prone position, so Sam doesn't have to take that penalty. (I didn't give the "opponent prone" bonus to the troll.)

@Poindexter Sam should be Reaction 8 + Intuition 3 + Combat Sense 4 = 15 dice to dodge. Do it!



10 - Smaller guy on the left flank (near Ace)

This was the guy who shot at Ohanzee but Ohanzee dodged. He's going to try to make Ohanzee dance again.

Free: "He's getting away!"
Simple: Take aim (reduce range via image magnification)
Simple: Long FA burst at Ohanzee

Shooting Ohanzee: 6 hits

@Malevolence Same as before: Reaction 3 + Intuition 4 + Combat Sense 3 + Running 2 - Damage 1 - Burst 5 = 6 dice. These are gel rounds so the base damage is 8P +1AP + net hits. If Ohanzee takes 3 or more boxes of damage he gets knocked down.




8 - B13 is astrally attacking Chino again

Astrally attacking his other self! 4 hits, reallllly close to a glitch but not

@rednblack Chino needs to dodge 4 hits with Intuition + Logic = 8 dice. If he doesn't succeed then damage is 6S + net hits, soaked with Willpower.

As per my recoil edit above, I'd be doing 10P instead of 11. Does that 1 hit matter for the drone? (Fingers crossed)

It was simply not meant to be. I have to Edge it because if I don't I take a dirt nap and the Edge is wasted.

So, not likely to make a difference, but it couldn't hurt. Though it might have been more productive to re-roll the soak where it's more dice to knock off hits with. Hmm...

So 8S + 3 net hits is 11S, soak it down to 8S means his stun monitor is full at 11S. He gets knocked down and does not get back up. Bear, presumably, goes away.
Just for giggles, let's see what might have been if I had Edged the soak rather than the Dodge - have to get more than 3 hits on 10 dice:

@Poindexter Nah, since it's a drone its damage track is only 6 + (Body/2). Drones are fragile. Sam blows it up good either way. Thanks for the honesty though.

I should have given the troll extra dice to punch a large target. Given the honesty, I'll ignore them. I always remember those rules when it comes to drones but never for orks or trolls.



@Malevolence Ohanzee faceplants!

BUT!!!

Headcases have an ability called Adrenal Control (p. 195, Stolen Souls). Specifically, the nanites work over your adrenal glands to keep your body going and your muscles pumping to keep YOU (their beloved host) ALIVE.

Ohanzee isn't that much of a headcase. This is a simple Nanite Volume test, which is 3 for Ohanzee. Roll to see if Ohanzee can get a hit on three dice! So exciting!

Awful. 

Chino needs to soak 9S.  I'm going to pre-Edge this with Exploding 6s, with the hopes of keeping him standing and a minimal negative mods.
WIL (5) + Edge (4) = 9 dice with exploding 6s:
Soak + Pre-Edge: 9d6h5 4

Chino takes 5S, for a total of 7S.  Adjusted Initiative is 1.

It's clear that the troll isn't quite sure what to do about a madman who is insane enough to charge a troll with a grenade launcher. The troll is going to try to club Chino with it.

Club Chino: 3 hits almost a glitch but not quite

Chino has Reaction 6 + Intuition 4 + Combat Sense 3 + Running 2 - Wounds 2 - Attacker has longer reach 1 = 12 dice to dodge. If he doesn't, base damage is 12S.

If Chino dodges (more likely) or manages to take only 1S (less likely), he'll have an action @ 1. You asked earlier about action economy, given that he's astrally perceiving and a bit beat up. The fact that B13 staggered him a bit gives the troll an opportunity to step forward and try to club Chino, which means that Chino doesn't have the opportunity to do his flying kick (since he's already engaged in melee).

Options
1) Complex: Melee attack the troll
2) Simple: turn off astral perception... this also prevents B13 from attacking him further
3) Simple: activate CFD attribute boost (roll 6 dice, hits = bonus to physical stats of your choice)
4) Simple: activate adept attribute boost (roll 7 dice, hits = Agility bonus)
5) Simple: activate Physical Barrier preparation

Oh, right, Chino only has Magic 5, not 6. So you were correct to roll 6 instead of 7. Obviously a disappointing result though.

I generally don't combine the "defended against a previous attack" between physical and astral defense rolls since the astral defense is purely mental in nature. Others could rule differently.

The rigger's RCC takes 8 DV.

The agent will hold action until Doc issues instructions, at which point it can begin. That can happen right now.

Doc already knows about the RCC. In addition, Doc's agent points out:
