@Jack:

If I'm reading this correctly, as Death Touch is a touch spell, Yin needs to make an unarmed attack against Krestov for the spell to work.  Am I correct to think that the 7 hits from a 16 die roll is for the Spellcasting Test?  Just wanting to check, I'll handle the rolls either way.

IIRC, the errata clarified that the spellcasting check doubles as the check for the touch attack. Normally, you wouldn't get any defense against a mana spell beside your resist with will or body.

I don't wish to argue that, but can I get a source for that? just scanned the official core errata document and found nothing on that.  I'll work with it, but it still feels weird to me.

5 damage soaked, physical condition box is 4/13, wound modifier of -1

Sav Guardians are unfortunately only 8p. Also I think he dropped his gun when Yang made all of the metals hot to the touch.

Which I also forgot and was going to make a test against if necessary, and then I had a question for the GM, and then I had a second question for the GM on bnc's behalf.

1. Are the HK-227's and/or the Ares Alpha's external components made out of metal or polymer?

2. Did bnc need to drop the HK Urban Combat she was wielding? I don't have the book in front of me, but I feel like that gun is almost entirely made out of polymer and ceramic materials so that it can bypass MAD-scanners.

First and foremost: All weapons beside the Urban Combat have enough metal in them to qualify for Hot Potato otherwise simple gloves would render this illusion spell useless (and yes, that is one reason why I placed the HK UC in your arsenal)

Second: AP attacks of single bullets only take one point of damage away if they punch through a barrier (It's impossible for the barrier to stop 8 base damage with only 5 dice), so all you lose is 1 damage.

Third: I might have missed it, but I don't think Scary has gotten rid of the net yet, so -5. Also he is under hot potato for another -5
Just in case, I roll for him: Resist Net: 11d6t5 4
So yeah, Scary is free, but his gun is burning his hands

Forth: If he charges the barrier he won't be able to continue his charge in this phase - he'll need another complex action to get to Yang (which is the main reason Yang has cast the barrier - it won't stop bullets, but it'll stop others for the moment engaging him in melee)

Picking up the gun despite the felt heat is definitely possible for Scary, although I'd also allow you to say he didn't drop it in the first place, being a stubborn SoB.

I'd complain about how it's weird that future weapons technology is still using that much metal in their guns, and how weapons built almost entirely out of polymer (besides the barrel) already exist, but I have a silenced revolver, so I think I'm coming out ahead on things already.  ;)

I'll make the resist test, and just fight through the pain.

Defense Test, Full Defense wonderfully last an entire combat turn and not just 1 pass.

Defense - Int 5 + Rea 8 + Gymnastics Agility 6 -1: 18d6t5 4

It's a grazing hit. If that would do damage, I'll spend edge to get a second chance and reroll some failures.

Full Defense uses Will, takes -10 Ini and helps against all attacks
Pre-emptive Dodge uses Gymnastics, takes -5 Ini and helps only against melee attacks

Grazing Hit from fire does nothing, but depending on your Will attribute, you might have to adjust your dice pool

Agile Defender: Gymnastics Agility in place of will for full defense

Fortunately it's the same additional +2 dice, Edit 1: actually it should be +4 because the +2 to agility from agi boost, but I dodged well enough regardless of that. Edit 2: Also forgot the +2 from combat sense. Really glad I made that roll the first time.  ::)
