Do wired reflexes dice bonus affect matrix hot sim initiative?

Wired Reflexes effect your meat body and AR initiative only.

Your Matrix VR Initiative is calculated using Data Processing + Intuition. You automatically gain +2d6 or +3d6 when using Cold-Sim or Hot-Sim. This is covered in the Matrix section of the CRB.

Ok. I thought so but wired reflexes state they add 1d6 to initiative, not physical or meat initiative. I was wondering it it applied elsewhere.

I have to say, I can see where you're coming from. In most places where Initiative is mentioned, physical initiative is treated no different from the other types of initiative, and merely lists the 1d6 without saying that it alone is increased by augmentations and the like (see p. 159 for example). The matrix chapter is especially bad; it says you get +3d6 (or +4d6) initiative dice, never saying this replaces, not adds, to the regular dice. With the whole "remember this can't take you past 5d6" blurb after, it's not a stretch indeed to conclude that that's on top of bonuses from wired reflexes.

But Jayde Moon gave the crucial page reference: the table on p. 101 says that only for meatspace initiative you add dice bonuses from appropriate sources. That's the correct interpretation, even though it could have been said more clearly in other sections.

I agree that the book should say "Physical Initiative" whenever they mean that, as well as "Matrix Initiative", "Astral Initiative", "Initiative Attribute", "Initiative Score" and "Initiative Dice".

Sometimes they just type "Initiative" which cause unnecessary confusion.

As a rule of thumb whenever they say "Initiative" they often mean "Physical Initiative" (and in AR you use your Physical Initiative).

Augmentations only increase "Physical Initiative Dice".... and since no augmentations in core increase the data processing nor the intuition attribute they also currently only affect "Physical Initiative Attribute". But augmentations that affect intuition would also affect your Matrix Initiative Attribute.

Aha... Xenon can be wrong, Cerebellum Booster increases Intuition. But this is like "Does the Multidimensional Coprocessor affect AR?" question where the wording isn't exact.

Pretty much the way I view it is that  VR init has nothing to do with the character and everything to do with the device your using. Which the the device has 4d6 init. So the only way to get more is you have to upgrade the device. In the case of technomancers replace device with living persona.
Concepts are great, but implementation sucks. Why not improve it?

If Cerebellum Booster increases Intuition then it will increase the Initiative Attribute used for Matrix Initiative (unless it have some specific wording that prevents this).

I don't have the book where it is included, so for me I guess there are still no augmentations that increase intuition. I should probably clarified that in my post rather than using the word "currently".

They're not entirely consistent on that, though.  The rigger chapter states that cold-sim gives you a bonus of +2d6 (for a total of 3d6) and hot-sim a bonus of +3d6 (for a total of 4d6).  (SR5, p.266).  This chapter is rather inconsistent on a couple of things, though, so take that as you will.

Not really... Pharmaceutical or Standaard Grade Psyche & Narco would do a whole lot more for a whole lot cheaper. +2 Logic & +2 Intuition which you could use Standard Grade 170 times or Pharmaceutical Grade 85 times to equal the same cost as Cerebellum Booster 1.
