Yulia listens quietly as Jimmy weaves his heartfelt belief in the possibility that the local leader of Humanis might actually be someone she and Athos could turn to. It was a hard sell, but she wanted to believe Jimmy. His passion and sincerity was infectious. Still, it wasn't just her that she would be putting at further risk. It was Athos too. And ultimately Nagisa, Dame Valentina, Tony, and whoever else was directly or indirectly caught up in the game someone was playing.
"Jimmy," she says as the boy placed her comm back in her hand. "You are an amazing boy." Her words were heartfelt and she hoped her sincerity showed through her illusion. "I believe that you believe Michael can be trusted to bargain and keep his part of the deal. I want to believe that. But so many lives are on the line for this." She quickly goes on when she sees Jimmy's face fall. "I just need to ask advice from some people first before I make such an important call. Athos for one. And...someone else. Someone whose counsel I value as much as yours. If they agree, then I'll do it. If Michael is as you say, I'd be happy to advocate for his veracity. Even if we might disagree in segregation, there is a big difference between separation and genocide. If the fact that magic can even make humans different can help soften his image both to his supporters and detractors, and you believe he's worth helping, then I'm game."
She goes on the add, "But only if you're up there with me. Jimmy, I've never been the focus of crowds before. I'd make a fool of myself without you. Will you stand with me if I do this?"
