Kynos gave a perfunctuory nod to Debbie. "Thank you kindly for your cooperation."
Once he was alone with DemoX he gave the dwarf a long hard stare.
"You know, for someone who's gone to ground to avoid trouble you look a lot like someone who not only found trouble but made a lot of it too."
He held up a hand to stop the dwarf from speaking.
"Look, no, I'm not mad at you for your deception. I was hired to do a job and I was paid. No problems on that front. I know you had a side income on that job - and I don't mind that either, although a little warning would have been nice.

But now I'm here because I've been hired to clear up why there were already bombs in the walls of the warehouse that you supposedly rigged to destroy some rockets. I'm not in the habit of ratting out chummers - that's bad for business. But I have been known to kill tiresome people because they are in my way, annoy me or I have some ammunition rolling around that's about to go bad.
Luckily the last bit is not true at the moment.

So for the sake of us having worked successfully together, me being interested in keeping you as a useful contact, you seeming in need of a friend who can give you some protection - which I am inclined to extend to you if you help me - and this being just a small step away from being a hole in the ground anyway, please answer me truthfully: What happened really yesterday and on whose order did you operate beside our projecting mage lady?"

DemoX tells you "Look man, I did steal these rockets and sold them to some gang for extra profit.  It was a good opportunity, we blew the rockets shortly after the transaction was completed so IT got what she wanted and I got to kill some scums that I wanted dead anyhow, everybody wins.

I did wire the warehouse to explode, it was a piece of cake and took like 20 seconds. I just placed live plastic explosives in the middle of the space and it was more than enough to reduce that old warehouse to wood-chips. I did so to protect my ruse - but my entire attention was to pilot the van so that I make the sell. I actually saved the life of your two magical partners because they nearly blew up  a van full of rockets when they are in the blast radius. I was smart enough to be under cover you see. When I told them to stop it I thought a gunshot maybe two, they did not have any weapon that could damage that van, but their fancy magic stuff... that was a surprise and I barely got away.

But somebody set me up, my contacts at the Mafia and Yakuza are going bananas, they say that everybody thinks that I tried to assassinate their leaders... and do not get me wrong, for the right pay I would have but I would have been way more careful and plan such a high profile job for weeks rather than a hasty 10 minutes.  You cannot believe the kind of people that are after me now.

I hope that you did not come here to finish me, because I told Gerald that I only trust you, these mages seemed too reckless to trust anyhow. My money is blowing away in this place and they roughed me up real bad just for old times sake. I need my name cleared somehow, but I have no idea where to begin... I am actually thankful that Debbie chose to help me. I thought she hated my guts.

I think your Venom guy might be behind this hit, from what I studied about him nobody is sure who he really is. There are some people that say that he is related to some big Japan Yak's like very powerful, but others say that he is not from Japan but from Korea and that he was some hot shot in the Yakuza there. The thing is, even the Yaks are not sure who this guy is and why did he come here. If we can trail this hit to Venom I think I can even score 100k for his life."

"DemoX, Buddy, see that wasn't to hard. You know you could have come to me with that directly? This is exactly the right amount of crazy to keep my attention and the right amount of money to make it worthwhile. Nevermind. You can stay here - in that case please make sure to have Debby forward my messages, or you can come with me and meet my new employer. I'm sure he won't hold a grudge against you since you really seem not responsible for the hidden bombs. Together we can surely clear this up and get Venom's head in the process."
Kynos genuinely smiled at those words - a really rare thing to occure.

"I did not know you guys... IT is a bit of a square,  she'd never agree to that plan. She did not grew up in the streets, she is cooperate born. She has no idea what it is like to have to work for money, to survive especially now where these zombie's are running lose. " He sighs.

"That boss of yours? how much do you trust him to stash me away? because the Mafia and the Yakuaza are really hot for me. This place is in Mafia's protection but in a way this is the last place they are going to look for me. They are practically in the lobby"

"Well, my boss is mafia and he is hiding from the mafia himself. In that regard he has exactly the same problem as you, so you can expect him to be accommodating in that regard. Come on. If you ever want to get out of this place without fear for your life, you'll have to work for it.
I can rent you my bolt hole. It's got roughly the same amenities but costs only a fifth of what you pay."
Kynos indicated towards the door. "Come on, I can take you with me on my bike."

DemoX say... "There is just one way I can get out of here, unconscious and tossed to the dumpster. Any other way will get me killed." Just tell Debbie that I want out and then wait about an hour behind the Gates.

Kynos shrugged. "Ok. Have it your way. See you."

He knocked on the door and did exactly as DemoX said.

@Kynos an hour later a couple of big orcs in suits toss a body beg into the dumpster. If you look inside there is DemoX beaten even harder.

How do I feel?

Athos nods, "Just doing what my Uncle Vinnie taught me.  "It is all about respect, Athos lad.  All about respect."  I try to keep the things he taught me in my mind.  As to why I am here, that is a long and convoluted story, and as you are off the clock, I would hate to bore you with the details.  Suffice it to say that I have been expecting you.  I was told that you need some help and that I am to do everything I can to assist you.  What do you need, or is that best left to a more private location?"

@Athos Lora say "I am really here in a friendly manner, tomorrow night... lets just say it will be an interesting night if we can really do what I plan."  She takes a sip of the beer "I live right in this building, top floor great view of the city.  I was told that you stay here too and I was actually on my way out to go dancing when I met you. You can join me if you like, you seem to be in need of some creative distraction... no work chat tough, we'll keep that for tomorrow night."

@Minnie Your tail makes Strawberry's body respond and you can feel that her stroking becomes more sensual and more pleasurable, as your sensitive ears are getting just a little bit of extra attention. Athos raises an eyebrow.  "Top floor?  I am certainly in the wrong business.  As for dancing, I am game if you want to risk me squashing your toes.  But I have been known to be able to do a few steps."  He rises and offers an arm to Lora, admiring her form as she slides out of the booth and stands.  "I am afraid that my car is in the shop.  Shall I summon a cab?"

@Athos Lora say "I got a Harley if you can handle the speed." She smiles and take you to her big and red armored and chromed bike.  As you join her you quicly discover that she is quite a speed devil, and after few very narrow turns that were too fast for comfort you reach a small club downtown called the Matchstick. It has impressive AR decore that is artfully designed to make the place look retro. Extremely retro like 1930 retro. Apparently Lora Eagle is one of the regulars and they quickly invite you inside.

Once she is out of her leather jacket you discover that she is wearing a simple looking dark green dress that show just a hint of cleavage. If you did not already know better you'd consider her a good girl. Oddly enough, you are dressed according to the dress code with your business suit.   She teaches you some very old dances like Jitterbug and Lindy hop, and by the etiquette and dynamics of that place you feel as if you are living the swing era. The only thing that brakes the illusion is the universal connector port on the back of Lora's neck, perhaps a control rig or a DNI. Most of your night out is spent on learning the dances, but once you pick them up you find them quite enjoyable.
