@Minnie M tells you, “Did she tell you why she agreed to grant a foot hold to yet another powerful syndicate? She was lonely, she haven’t left her domain for a long while... it will not kill her to get out  of her domain, she used to do it once in awhile for decades.  But now she cannot bare the thought of doing so. She is out of control and I have to cover for her. I pose as her and manage the day to day operations of her businesses. Strawberry changed from a brilliant businesswoman to a teenager without responsibilities. She even took my name, a name that she gave me when she was 12 years old. She was a brilliant mage even that young but I was nothing more than a talking doll for her at the time. Strawberry is not a name for a serious businesswoman. 

Now she took your girlfriend under her wing and I am bound by magic to obey her. I am sure that Nagisa is brilliant but I am also certain that the Mafia are looking for her. If they find out that we hide her it will start a war that we cannot possibly win. Strawberry, just hang around at the joke and completely ignore her responsibilities. She makes reckless decisions that can get us involved in a war and risk the life of the people that depend on us.

We should not side with the Mafia or the Yakuza. This place will not be ground zero for war as there are many better targets for both syndicates.  Strawberry has forgotten everything about caution and responsibility. She now has none of  the qualities that got her so far. All she care about is to play the goddess of lust roll and have the local inhabitants terrified to disobey her.  But I have people that look up to me for guidance and safety, and her behaviour is putting them at risk.  Next time you ask her for something please come by me first she does not understand the risks. “

The story M shares with me is more than I could have imagined.  Strawberry seems so self assured, but to hear M tell it she is going senile.  I've had clients, very rich ones, who were old and starting to lose their wits.  Strawberry doesn't seem to me anything like those dotards.  Can it happen earlier?  Or...

"M, I ask with my brows furrowed in deep thought, "how old is Strawberry?"

"She's seventy," answers the redheaded spirit, her eyes still heard but an eyebrow cocking up as if the question surprised her.

"Seventy," I mutter, parroting her answer in more thought.  That's right when a human could be losing their marbles, but elves live to be hundreds of years.  That's like, what?  Thirty or forty in human years?  It makes no sense for her to be losing her mind so young.

Was it the Yak, I wonder?  "How long ago did she start acting different?"

M say "I do not think that she is too old, but I cannot understand how she acts. It was during the war with the Yak, she was shot and while the physical damage was easy to undo. She was not herself afterwards. It was about two years ago and I am not even sure that getting shot has to do anything with it. As much as I try to understand I am no human. "

"M," a say looking the being in the eye, "I've only known Strawberry for two days but in that time she's given me hope I've never felt before in my life.  If she's sick, I hope you will believe me that I want to make her well.  She's right that the Mafia has used me ever since I came to Seattle.  But if I hadn't come here I would never have met Nagisa or Athos...or you and Strawberry.  While I need to clear our names of what happened, I don't feel I owe the Mafia anything anymore.  Strawberry helped me see that.  I want Nagisa safe.  I want Athos safe.  I want a few others I consider to be friends safe.  I don't want to see the bastards who set us up get to start a war where a lot of innocent people get killed for their benefit.  I think you don't want a war either.  And like you, I want Strawberry to be well.  If she's sick, I will do everything I can to help you make her well again."  My eyes glance toward Nagisa's apartment.  "And I think once Nagisa understands what we're up against, she'll agree to."  I'm not quite so confident on that last part, but I put on a brave face.  "If Strawberry started acting strange after the Yakuza came here after all those years of being okay, doesn't that sound strange to you?  Can't we help you get to the bottom of it?"

M say " She is quite a charmer.  Do not get me wrong, I really love her beyond what magic compels me to. She cares greatly about you, this is why I fear for our safety and If there is anything I can do to help you prevent a war I will, just ask me. She is willing to take great risks for you, be aware of it and consider me and the people that I lead before you ask. You are special to her and I hope that she gets better. "

Realizing that the guard is wavering, Athos takes advantage of the situation and strikes again.

Attack guard: 13d6t5 4  If he needs another strike:  Unarmed strike on guard: 13d6t5 8  Now that was a solid hit.

The last connected so solidly that Athos could see the man's eyes cross through the face mask as he went limp, the force of the blow sending him into the lockers on one side of the room before slumping to the floor.  Athos looks at Kynos.  "You handle yourself pretty good in a fight.  Do you want to see if you can fit into either of these armor suits?  I am going to look for my clothes and gun." 

Athos bends over to pick the key ring off one of the guards and looks for the locker with his name.  Opening it, he takes his things and puts them on, feeling much better.  He checks the pistol and commlink and pockets the grenade he picked up.  He picks up one of the batons and says, "I wonder if these would come in handy?"

Athos looks through the inventory list to see if there is anything interesting listed.  He looks for cred sticks and weapons, but also to see if something jumps out as different.

Kynos tried to hit the other guard again but was blocked.
Hastily he had to try to avoid getting hit himself, using the momentum to hit his guard again.

As you enter the room you see massive closets with prisoner numbers. Perhaps an hundred of them. You can see that reinforcement is coming as you enter the room, and with a hasty thought you quickly lock yourself inside. That will hold them for a while and you definitely cannot handle all of them. You are not sure just how much time you have, but there is another door on the other side of the room. 


Since the guard was out of initiative I allowed braking initiative order and just striking him, so he is out. (we can argue on who finished him )
Also if you do not want to lock yourself inside feel free to over do it and I'll edit.

After locking the door, Athos tosses the unconscious guards in front of the door then finds the ledger of names for the location of their lockers.  He strips out of the prison garb and into his own clothes.  When he looks at the 'link, he notices two calls from Lora.  Figuring now is as good a time as any, he hits the re-dial function and sends a message out to her.  >>Got your calls.  I was shanghaied by some fragging KE Jackboot commander named Winter.  Do you know him?  Seems to know you.  I got the distinct impression he thinks you are coming here for some reason.  He is really interested in you and lots of drugs and devices were used in the interrogation.  If this is where you were going in the pretty rotorcraft, I am now free.  Can I be of help?<<

Athos moves to where he can pick up one of the guards and tosses him over his shoulder, saying to Kynos, "He might be useful as a bargaining chip, or a shield."

@Athos Deep Blue texts you. >>I hope you found my little gift useful. I twas a nice surprise to learn that you are still alive. My job is very bloody and it is almost finished. We need to leave before we are overwhelmed and you have to make your way to the hospital, there are medical evacuation drones in there. Give me a buzz once you are inside one of these.

These are your only ride home as my ride is full. there are a couple of medics that are going to raid that hospital.  (comm codes attached) and you might want to contact them if you are hurt. They are in KE full body armor so be careful with busting random knights near the hospital as it might be them.

She attach you a small map that interfaces with your commlink to see a prison visitor map.

Kynos took his possessions back. He really regretted not having his full kit with him - but of course in that case KE would have had a real case against him. Win some, lose some.
Instead he took also the pistols of their guards and took the time to remove the full body armor of one of them. He didn't have time to wear it himself, but it would be a nice souvenir and extra payment for the lost day. Making a bundle of the armor and making sure it's wireless functions were off, he stuffed it into a makeshift sling bag.
Reloading his own gun with APDS he said to Athos: "Ok, we'll have to move fast and commandeer a vehicle. Gods know where this prison is."

Athos looks over to Kynos.  "I have just received a text from my Yak contact.  We are supposed to get to the hospital and commandeer a couple of emergency extraction drones and let them know when we are inside so they can get us out of here.  Are you in or out?"

Hoping that the other door out of here goes in the right direction, Athos shoulders the KE that Kynos has taken the armor from and leaves the room.  Once through, he puts the man down and waits for Kynos then takes the grenade from his pocket.  Pulling the pin he sets the grenade in the doorway and carefully closes the door so as to keep the arming handle attached.  The next person through the door would allow the handle to fly off and set off the grenade.  Even if it did little damage, it should make the pursuers more cautious.  Athos then picks up the guard and moves away.

"Eh, I'd have liked to find Winter, but getting out of here is probably better in the long term. Winter will turn up again after what has happened here."
Shrugging the bag into a more comfortable position and with drawn gun in hand he followed Athos' lead.
