There are five knights that approach you. " You should stay inside, your friend is not getting to the hospital anytime soon. nobody does... somebody is killing the prisoners, we are evacuating the wounded back to the main gate, please put your man there by the choppers."
The are talking to you, but other than the leader the attention of the rest of knights is to the sky. Unlike the previous knights you encountered this squad is armed with heavy weapons.
Two machine guns,  a rocket launcher a sniper rifle and the leader is carrying an assault rifle with grenade launcher.


The guard leader had +5 circumstance modifier because they are suspicious and they are more than you and do not see you as a direct threat right now. If you'd go for con perhaps less circumstances, but carrying a wounded and walking to the hospital do not make you very scary to a squad of five knights.

"I do too," I assure the manifest spirit.  But I'm troubled.  How can I solve this mess from in here?  And what of Athos?

Well, he's been taking care of himself far longer than I have, so I'm sure he's just fine.  Probably high rollering it at the Hilton, lucky guy.  And here I am dealing with a demented elf, her overprotective spirit, and a girlfriend who may flay me alive when I go back in her new apartment that she considers a prison.  I want his job next time...

Thanking M so she can get on with her work, I am left to my thoughts and the closed door to Nagisa's new unwelcome and restrictive domain.

I slip back inside to see what she's been up to during the maybe 15 minutes I spoke with M.  My goal now is to get her on board for doing all the legwork we can via the matrix.  The truth is out there.  Maybe we can find it on the 'trix...

"Why the hell are you out here anyway? You should have taken cover inside the hospital. Your sniper is wasted in such close proximity and your heavy weapons guys are exposed during reload. In about a minute you'll have expended your ammunition if you have to continue to use suppressive fire.
Execute a leap frog maneuver and fall back to the hospital if you want to survive this. And while you are at this you can get us inside so that this man doesn't have to die here. We are well aware of the evacuation - we wouldn't have come here if we had any other option."
Kynos didn't have to pretend being angry now, he really was furious at this display of bad tactics.

@Kynos and Athos It is hard to gauge from their body language but the weapons are a bit unlikely for knights. Sniper or assault rifle are common in elite squads, but rocket launchers and machine guns are a bit off.  "This is the safest route to the hospital because the sky are clear." the leader knocks a few knocks on his armor 3-1-1 and the rest answer with 4 knoks followed by a quick 5. The machine gunners carefully go to the back of the ally and wait prone, taking positions that control the ally.  While the rocket launcher and sniper climb some fire stairs to the top of the women prison.  The leader alone say "You can come if you like but you have to be sneaky"

From their deployment it seems that they are doing some sort of ambush, but their goal do not appears to be to interfere with the combat. It seems as if they are setting an ambush to whomever moves inside the ally but is unclear what the team on the women prison has in mind. One thing Kynos is certain they did not position themselves like that to interfere with the combat.  The leader tells you "You can come with me to the hospital but be quiet."

@Minnie when you get back to Nagisa's apartment Nagisa is nowhere to be seen.

"Lead the way." Kynos ignored the units actions for the moment but did note their positions for later reference - especially if they wanted to flee by drone...

Okay, M and I were standing right outside the door after Nagi stormed into her apartment and slammed the door.  We're underground.  Where could she have gone?

Keeping an eye and an ear for movement and the door, I search the apartment.  I also look for any other avenue she could have used to leave such as another door.

You look for her and the complex seems big and without M to guide you a bit confusing. You walk for a while, you've been to the dining room and to one of the control rooms. She was not there, eventually a man asks you "Are you looking for something?" It is Jack the one you met in one of the control rooms.

I hate then idea of admitting that I can't find my own girlfriend, but the fact is she's no where to be seen.  Knowing the mood she had been in when she left, I cringe at what she might be up to.  It's best I find her sooner than later.  "I'm looking for my friend.  A human redhead about yay tall," I explain raising my hand up to Nagisa's height.  "She's new and i'm afraid that she might be lost."

With the kind of firepower these thugs are displaying, Athos does not mind remaining non-threatening.  He follows the leader towards the hospital, keeping an eye on the air and the ground, but willing to seem to be Kynos's underling for now.

@Minnie Jack tells you "The new girl? she is interviewed now and will be there for a while.
The first time is always difficult. I barely passed my own initiation. Care for a cup of coffee?"

@Kynos and Athos - if you go with the leader, we need a roll of stealth unless you want not to be stealthy. (that is also cool)

You sneak cautiously toward the hospital. To Athos it is clear what these things are kites. He just walk to the hospital as if taking a stroll and make no attempt to be stealthy.  They are kites and the KE seem idiotic for shooting so much on a bunch of kites.  To Kynos however they seem like red winged devils taken from some horror show. The thing that strikes you is that the knights seem terrified - they are skilled warriors and are very tightly knit together. However, seeing them emptying clips without hitting and just continuing is a bit off.  None of them is physically hurt. Even that knight that was tossed from high attitude that you now can see do not have any broken bones or anything, just a bit of mud on his armor nothing more.

All is well until one 'kite'/winged demon notices Athos and begins to dash toward him.

A bit of how I imagine progress. I imagine kites of 2075 as completely autonomous gliders that can compensate on lack of wind with a small engine for the case where there is no wind. So that it is reasonable that such a toy would come to interact with Athos. Kites also typically have cameras on them.

Athos, being slightly burdened by the guard, cannot do much to avoid the kite if it is going to ram him at speed, but he does try to move out of the way.  Without looking around, he says, "Kynos, why do you suppose these men are shooting at kites?  I do not see the threat."
