I don't want to rely on the kids for something as dangerous as this.
If we want to go in disguised we need to do it with exchangeable personal. I'd look at the kitchens. Everyone's got to eat. The researchers probably get better grub, but even they need their plates taken away and washed.
So Mark, if you can, try to use your beggar disguise to befriend one of the kitchen helps and learn from him or her who get's food where, when and what. That should tell us a lot about what we are dealing with."

Akihiro Matsuda is a Japanese researcher, working for Faruke. It's difficult to find details on him, but you can definitely say that the main part of his life is being spent in Tokyo, Japan. According to Frozen Yoghurt, he comes to Nepal roughly twice a month. He spends little time in social networks, so there's not a hell of a lot to find on him as a person. You could, of course, try and break into Faruke's host to find out more about him, but this is definitely more than a matrix search.

You realize that the temple hardly has a host itself. There is a host, but a rather week one, suggesting that either they keep their data somewhere else or offline or are idiots who are just waiting for you to come and grab their data.

I am saying these things under the interpretation that unconscious means willing - otherwise what Mark say can't be done as shape change is only for willing participants.

Mark opened his RCC and begun hacking the servers of the temple, he wanted to have a look to see whats inside - he had a brand new deck but he was used to the RCC and liked it very much. Everything was ordered exactly as he wanted it to be and old habits are difficult to shake. While decking Mark is in hot sim - his body is limb, but Mark is alive -in real wold he is old and clumsy but in the Matrix everything is possible! The low security server would never know what hit it.


RCC running smoke and mirrors, exploit and sneak + signal scrub + VM  - 3 program slots used, noise comprehension is 2 + 4 -3= 3

limit is 2 + 2 (exploit) + 1 stealth + 3 (smoke and mirrors) .

If the noise from where we are to the temple host is too much since Mark is not in any form of matrix combat he'll take the time and compensate on the fly:

Noise negation: 18d6t5 6[/b ] - limit is 5 so total of 8 noise reduction.  - if that is not enough then Mark will have to drive closer to the server he is a careful guy and old enough to be patient about it.

I think Cinder and Scarcrow still don't know what Mark is capable of, or am I wrong? This should be a good opportunity to clarify things.

Hm, the kids are a problem. Unless we can find out how this conditioning can be undone, we might have to find some BTLs that can overwrite the conditioning. I'll see what I can find. At the very least some Chill soft will prevent them from becoming aggressive. I hesitate to use chemicals - the right dosage for a kid can vary wildly.

But those are questions best answered by their head researcher Faruke. This time we'll have to prepare a better interrogation place. I'll get on that after my next shift."

"A disguise and a secret mission sounds promising for getting them out. But I'd actually like to know what we do with the kids before abducting them, since Johnson ain't care about them and we can't set them free like that.
 I'd suggest we ask a researcher first. Once we know how to reverse it - or if it's even posible - we can proceed by taking the kids out.

You already do have a Mark on the host and I don't assume that entering is a problem.
But, as you might have expected, no interesting data on the head researcher can be found online. It seems that they keep their infos offline - either because they are keen on safety or just because the temple is small enough a facility and conservative enough that they just don't use this kind of technology. The host is basically there to run the equipment - kitchen, lights, and so on. The good side is: every online gear in the temple is very vulnerable. The bad side: There is no interesting information to be gathered.

Lets not give up just yet, thought Mark there is no information directly in this host but this host has sensors, many devices has microphones as they understand voice commands, other has cameras or other sensors, storage rooms can catalog items perhaps even hack a webcam in one of their computers.

Mark begun searching for anything with a sensor to give them some insight about what the temple is like from the inside.
(Should only need perception if things are running silent otherwise should discover them automatically - still may be interesting. )

After taking a little closer look, there are indeed some sensor icons, although they are sparse. You'd expect a temple of this size to have more. But indeed, there is something you can find.
For once, there are a bunch of commlinks, few of which offer a real protection. Basically all that stuff that comes equipped with sensors by default, has not been turned off: the fridge, the oven, the heating system, the coffee machine. Few of them have memory, though, so there's nothing recorded. It is possible, though, to overhear conversations in the kitchen or so. You can even find a trid station with a camera. But there don't seem to be any security cameras.
What is possible, of course, is to Spoof some of the sensored items and store future contents for later examination.

"Or... if we can't find out how to get to the head-scientist, how'bout we ask the one who made the datajacks? Our buddy Riker somehow got the address of that guy, he lives in Thamel. He might know how to undo these experiments.
And he's apparently not part of the temple, so maybe we won't meet some crazy madman this time."

I think that's a missunderstanding: Riker gave you the address of the doc where they took Bikki to have him examined.
