I've noticed that myself and revan.be are thinking of taking the plunge into SR5, but the rules seems to be a sticking point; primarily because there's a lot of crunch there.

That got me thinking, it would be cool if someone who knows the rules could hook up with new players wanting to get into the game. Perhaps character creation and a mock combat? Could even last a few sessions if needs be.

What with Google Hangouts and Roll20, these days it's a definite option.

Anyone interested in taking the GM/Teacher seat? I'm from the UK but I'm quite flexible as long as the time isn't too late.

I would be interested in doing this.
I'm still learning new stuff and learning the rules for 5e and would like a better understanding of them.
The world is changed, some say Awakened.

Cross posting from another thread, but you might check out this thread:

Complex Action - My Shadowrun/RPG YouTube

Some of the videos might give you a lot of insight/help in getting ramped up with the game.

i have a thread going here , for teaching shadowrun , and reviewing the rules with fellow students when there is no teacher present ...
https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/32240/teach-me-shadowrun-5th
The guys in the chummer thread prefer teamspeak, and were kind enough to host a server ,
although i personally prefer the ease of skype and its ilk .

I myself have the combat down a bit , a shaky understanding of chargen
( i plan on using the archetypes found in the thread in my sig , and wakshaanis thread to play and run for new players at my flgs)
and dont know enough about decking and rigging .

Revan,

I applied over at your roll20 site, but also here for completeness. I'd like to join your game if you have room (it's all good if you don't!); I'm interested in learning about SR5 as well.

you the dwarf decker?
its collaborative learning atm ;
I went into this wanting to learn to do a livegame here in belgium,
but with the rules being so complex and opposed test happy,
i might even consider trying some small test game on roll20 first to get everything down.

But i am really not quite there yet , got combat down , character creation enough to help a bit ,
but still need to get a grip on decking and rigging , then really go over gear , and then the gm chapters.
