Here's my third entry, inspired a bit by Dirk Montgomery (although without the augmentations). Basic story is a Genetique (Aztechnology) employee growing up in the CAS, on the fast track magically speaking, but his adherence to Aztec-inspired magic instead of blood magic, caused him to leave his former job and seek out a new life up North. I chose the modules CAS: General, Corp Drone, Magical Education (Magician), Corporate: Wage Mage, and Private Investigator/Detective for the modules. As always, comments and/or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

The only problem I can see is on the hardware side.
Namely, the lack of sensors to record evidence to satisfy clients / LEO's asking questions.
A secondary issue would be having only a single outfit which could cause nightmares when you need to blend in.
Depending on your table, a stun option might be a good idea.

Not a problem but is your SIN a limited corporate or full corporate?
With a limited SIN, you can take Creature of Comfort and get 20k nuyen to get mini-cameras, directional microphones, gel or shock rounds for your Ruger, maybe some more clothes for blending in.

The SIN if full corporate. Purchases suffered a great deal, because I needed to pump some attributes and skills up. I'll go back and tweak the contacts just a bit to try and get some more gear in, but I will not be able to afford to much. That kind of fits though, as he would be newly arrived to Chicago, and just starting out.

Going back and looking, I discovered I had some unused karma left over; I converted that to nuyen, allowing me to keep the two contacts, and pick up a lot more gear. Ammo, vision and audio devices (and enhancements), B&E equipment, biotech for when he gets roughed up (being a Private Detective, it's going to happen, probably frequently), and even a magical lodge. I changed out his armored jacket for something more along the lines of what he would wear (other outfits, as well as the Second Skin, will have to wait until he gets more nuyen). This is the picture I am basing him off of (and yes, I will be getting the Colt Manhunter for him once it becomes missions legal):

Only thing I see is need/want for stunbolt, otherwise looks pretty good without super crunching the numbers.

Agreed. This looks like a 'training wheels' edition, that you can use to introduce someone to the setting, and then shift over to something like 5E or 4E. Like how D&D 5E is best used as training wheels for D&D 3.X.

Turned in Toxshaman for ¥1 million/4 once.

I traded out Translate for Stunbolt. Thanks for catching that!
