Hey all:

So i've been slowly starting to paint my old horde of Shadowrun 25mm models and I've hit a bit of an aesthetic roadblock with trying to paint some of the more formal factions of the universe. I searched through many of my old 1-3 edition books for photos but struggled to find clear pics of color schemes for different corps. I know I can "make 'em up" but I'd rather work for something authentic to the classic color schemes if possible - you know, for nostalgia's sake.

If anybody has any ideas on the colors of these corps or can point me to a resource (book or online) I'd appreciate it much. Thanks!:

The Seattle Sourcebook has color plates showing a few of these.  They're old, but will probably match up some with those old Ral partha figures.

As far as I can recall Lonestar was predominantly blue with gold trim and Knight Errant was Black with Gold trim.

For some reason I've got it in my head that DocWagon was green with gold trim.

As for the others Renraku has the Red Samurai but I'm not sure on their standard colours and I have no idea on either Ares or SK. It might be worth checking the very first Shadowrun novel "Never Deal With a Dragon" for more detail on Renraku as the main character starts out working for them so there might be a description in there somewhere.

I believe the 4E Missions books actually stated and showed Knight Errant was black with red trim.

Just checked the 4E mission "Burn" and yeah, standard is black with red, silver with red trim for dress uniform or high profile occasions, and black and grey for urban camouflage. As an aside, the KE patrol armour that is standard issue for their Seattle cops now has ruthenium coating and can change patterns and colours via AR command. Also the red piping can flash like police lights if needed.

I know in SR Returns EK is black and gold. And considering who help make the game, I would trust his color scheme.

I had this faint memory of that photo from the Seattle sourcebook, but after plying through like 20 of my old sourcebooks I never came across it...but never checked the Seattle sourcebook. Good suggestion!

I had been going with Blue and Yellow already, but it was helpful to see how trim and color tone was represented in 2050s.

As an aside, the Shadowrun Returns ganes are set in the 2050s and the info from Burn is around 2074-2075, so the era could be important as well.

And now I need to go back and take a loot at the old source books for inspiration again.

Knight Errant frequently got described as black and gold, but in the original Seattle Sourcebook, they had a black and grey uniform, with a bit of white, and a red "KE" logo on the belt buckle.

For Missions, we decided that with them getting Seattle's contract, a major "win" for them over Lone Star, they decided to rebrand a bit.  They packed on some heavier, military style armor taht's black with red piping/trim, and silver visors for the troops, and similar trenchcoats for the officers.  One idea we tossed aroudn, but it's not in canon anywhere yet, is taht they also have "dress uniform" versions that are white with the red piping, plus certain units get ruthenium polymers built into the suit allowing for stealth operations.

Also, the red piping is designed so that it can "Flash" like a set of police lights

This design also shows up in the SR Crossfire card game on the Knight Errant card.

So, does the red-piping on the officers unforms flash? Like, as if, they are mobile police cars, but ya know, metahumans on foot?

They do flash; it's mentioned once or twice in the Missions description. If I ever finish Red Rain, I have it in action in one scene.

Sweet, this is exactly the section I was reading and the pictures I was looking at when I replied. Just wasn't sure if I was allowed to post pictures from the missions as references. Unless they're openly available via Google search or whatnot.

Do they have a siren too? Entertaining but a serious question if your flashing red lights you might have some form of siren for occasions where you want to scare someone off rather than arrest them.

Might be an idea to include this in a FAQ somewhere detailing the current uniforms worn by various corps and organisations.

While they may or may not have a siren, I would wager they have a built in loudspeaker to amplify them when shouting in/at a crowd.
