Yeah, let's get those initiative rolls.  And first actions.
That's just like... your opinion, man.

I have some questions, to give me a clearer picture of the situation ...

1) I assume the healing on the downed PI (Benson?) did nothing?
2) Would I be able to see the exit to the shooter's building if I were to look out the window from Hodge/Benson's office?
3) How many turns would it take me to get in visual range of the tough guy combat?

41 Cal
23 Ork
13 Calico
12 Chance
07 Benson

Calico does not feel a transfer of magical energy into the ork.  A successful memory test (I rolled for her) indicates Calico remembers that the front door to the building the shooter is in is visible from the windows of the offices she is in... but that doesn't reveal any sort of back door.  Calico runs 16 meters per turn, and can, on average, push to add a meter to that (but will be wiped out on the other end, she's not really a runner).  One turn to get out the building, 1 1/2 turn to get across the street, one turn to get up stairs to where you think they currently are.  You'll get there in a 'running' status.

Cal: To shoot him on your next action, you'll need to enter a running status.  This will give you a -2 to your actions.

All: I'm trying to keep the posting regular but all this prep to deploy is wreaking havoc with my schedule.  I actually look forward to deploying, when my schedule will be more regular.

That's just like... your opinion, man.

Cats are selfish jerks. It's why I get along with them so well; we're on the same page.

If I understand correctly, I can run and shoot at the ork while running with a 2 dice penalty. If so, this is my roll:

13d6t5: 4 [13d6t5=4, 2, 2, 4, 6, 2, 5, 2, 6, 4, 1, 4, 6]

For what it's worth, Cal simply plans to pursue and fire when possible. If I haven't posted and you come to me and that makes sense, feel free to roll for me.

Got it, going to finish out this round, then, to speed things on, just a little.

Let's get some initiative rolls for the next round.  Also, trove, what is the Spirit of Man's optional power?

Meanwhile, wanted to let you guys know what's going on with me in terms of my posting and what I mean when I say I've been super busy.  It's in spoiler tags in case you aren't interested, you won't have to scroll through the wall of text.

I am the Senior Enlisted Intelligence Analyst for a Sustainment Command, of which the Headquarters Element (including myself) is deploying to Kuwait this Spring.  While I am Active Duty, the unit itself is a reserve unit, so in the past few months it has gone from being about 40% manned to 100%, but that 60% did not have the ‘requirements’ so we’ve been feverishly getting those together in time for our train ups which start in a week and a half.  The train ups will include a training exercise in California and then in Texas.

As the Sr Intel Analyst, I am also the Security Manager for the entire command, which is something like… I think 5000+ people.  So while getting this several hundred contingent ready to go to Kuwait, I still have to also manage the Security Management program for the command.  I will relinquish this duty in two weeks, but right now I’m still the one.

Then, part of the 60% included my ENTIRE intelligence team.  So it went from JUST ME to several junior intelligence analysts, techs, and two superior Officers, all of which I have to train, respond to, prepare for training directly… and they are all reservists who don’t understand several of the processes.

Finally, I am a Geo-Bachelor (since i moved to this location specifically for this deployment, I did not bring my wife) so now I am in the midst of moving everything out of my house.

I have not gotten out of the office prior to 7pm on most nights.  12 hour days are a norm and it’s pretty much working lunch every day.  On top of that, I have meetings about meetings, and each meeting generates more work.  The General wants to know what he wants to know and he wants to know it yesterday.  I won’t have a weekend off until… 2017.  I might get 5-7 days between California and Ft. Hood to go see my wife for a week before I don’t get to see her for 9-12 months.

None of this is for a ‘woe is me’, I am happy with my work and look forward to this deployment, relatively (I miss my wife and dog a whole lot)… just wanted to give you guys an idea of why I am having to de-prioritize posting here, some days.

I remain committed to running this play-by-post and trying to still get on every day or not miss more than a day, until month 2 is complete.  I will probably wait to run month 3 until I am settled in Kuwait and understand what my schedule there will be like.

Anyway, that’s all!  I hope you stay with me through this time, because I do enjoy running this PbP.
That's just like... your opinion, man.
