Just gonna wait till everyone arrives at the meeting spot.  Only other thing for anyone to sort of 'do' is Ravener to hack the link of the dead guy with the cybereyes.
That's just like... your opinion, man.

Hacking the comlink shouldn't be too hard.  VR/Hot Sim Hack on the fly: 15d6t5 5 hits   Matrix Search for comlink unlock password 10d6t5 7 hits .  Hack on Fly on file: 15d6t5 5 hits .  Edit file to make it a password of my choosing  13d6t5 4 hits .  Now I have full access.  Failure at any point just means I start over and do it again.  Unfortunately, with the owner dead and the comlink in my possession it is only ever a matter of minutes til you can get everything off of it.

Print sizes and the man who appeared indicate elves ,humans, or orks.

The man is a large human or small to average ork.

Thanks Jayde Moon.

I was on my phone earlier, which is a pain to do the dice rolling on, so I held off using the Seattle Criminal Underground (street) knowledge until now, sorry about the two quick IC posts that resulted.

I'm going to roll the dice, but I don't know if there would be modifiers because the skill is pretty broad and this is pretty specific info (or that the skill may not apply at all, depending on who they are), so I'm expecting that what I roll may not really reflect what comes back.  (one of those spots where it is easier to handle modifications to rolls when face to face)

Seattle criminal underworld (street) knowledge 5+intuition 5:  Pool 10 dice Underworld street knowledge check: 10d6t5 3
so 3 successes if she can use her full dice.

To put some OOC parameters around the question of "who do we trust enough that we'll send them a picture of that ballistic (as part of tracing who the attackers were)?"

What loyalty rating would you like to see in those contacts?  Or would you rather we just discuss this IC and make our own judgement on who to contact?

(and I'm holding off on any new IC posts for the moment, waiting on responses.  Eventually I'll just go ahead and have Forty ping some contacts if we don't sort out guidelines)

Loyalty:

1 : Knows your name
2: Willing to do business with you
3 : Likes you a little but still just acquaintances
4 : Willing to call you a friend.
5 : A good friend, would hide a body for you if the dead guy was a real asshole
6 : Would die for you.
That's just like... your opinion, man.

Thanks for the reference--I was thinking I needed to look that up when I got home!

To be clear, that question was aimed at the other players.  The question in our laps is: besides a matrix search, do we ask our contacts about that distinctive ballistic mask?  The concern being that word could get back to the other team that we are looking for them.  So, how much do we feel we need to trust our contacts before we ask them?  3? 4? 5?

This should be talked about IC, but I thought it would be useful to also keep in mind the mechanics.

I would say that at 3 you have a reasonable certainty that they won't just sell you out.

At 2, they'll sell you out for $$$ and... well... what did you expect?

OK, besides checking her own knowledge to see if she recognizes the mask (a few posts up), Forty is hitting up a couple of her contacts (and I apologize for the long post.  It just seemed time to have her be more chatty with her contacts)

June Mayfield (grassroots politician) C3/L3;

Heather (gang leader) C4/L4

Wondering if that mask triggers anything with my various knowledge skills, so I'll post the rolls here and post in the IC thread if anything comes from it.

Gang Knowledge - Gunman's Mask: 5d6t5 4
Underworld Knowledge - Gunman's Mask: 5d6t5 3
Vory Knowledge - Gunman's Mask: 5d6t5 1 - glitch?

Sorry for not posting. My wife said the internet was down and she had tried all the normal ways of fixing it, so she then called charter to find out what was up, long story short I found out she had unplugged the router and forgotten to plug it back in. I am back now, sorry for the absence.

Sorry for not posting yesterday and late today... work is slamming me.

So... with this most recent post, I hope everyone sees why their underworld/gang/crime rolls were netting much.  Had thresholds in mind but none were met.

Go-go random contacts!

No immediate IC post -- I'm assuming that the computer savvy will try to dig up more info on this group.

Starting to search the Matrix for any information on Crying Mask and their recent activities in the area as an extended test:  Matrix Search 10d6t5 3 hits followed by 9d6t5 2 hits and 8d6t5 2 hits

re: the leader thing

I'm not against the leader thing, in concept, but I do have a concern.  (I should also admit I've never actually played a game with a designated leader, so the concept feels a bit strange to me, but I am willing to try something new--the strangeness to me is not my concern.)

My concern is that, say Jayde Moon posts at time T, the time that player A regularly has time to check on things and post is T+3 hours, but the time that the leader can regularly post is T+5 hours.  If player A waits for the post by leader, then their next post may be the next day at T+3, which is already after Jayde Moon's most convenient time, such that each cycle of events could well end up taking two days rather than one.  (or worse, Leader doesn't get a chance to respond until the next day at T-2, so almost nothing happens for nearly a day).

I'd like to hear from others who have done PbP with a formal party leader on how it worked out in practice?  I'm entirely willing to believe that I'm fretting needlessly if there is evidence pointing that way.  (It is also possible that I just need to be more patient .... and maybe J.M. could use the slower pace, given that he has four games on the bubble)

I'll respond IC once those who care to have commented here.
