I'm sure this gets asked once in a while but I didn't see a recent thread so I'll start a new one. My question is, what Shadowrun books would you recommend? I remember reading a couple way back in the day during 2nd edition or so, but I have almost no memory of them. A couple years ago I read Neat and the Spells & Chrome anthology, and like them okay. Are there any books I should definitely read? What are your favorites? I'm open to any suggestions, as long as they're titles I can actually get ahold of.

The novel Shaken: No Job Too Small is a sequel to Neat and is my favorite of the novels published by Catalyst.

Read the original "Secrets of Power" Trilogy (starting with "Never deal with a Dragon"). Basically everything from Nigel Findley is a must-read to (start with 2XS), he was top-of-the-line in writing believable and interesting Charakters.

Seconded anything by Nigel D Findley, especially 2XS. That's hands down the best Shadowrun novel in my opinion. Also all of the Michael A Stackpole short stories. Published as Wolf & Raven.

Alternatively you can read some of the fan fiction posted on this site as some of it is very good or even some of the pbp in character threads.

Mental block on the title/author but the novel set at the start of Bug City is excellent! Sure someone here will know it!

Shane on you for forgetting Tom Dowd!
Creator of Shadowrun and all!

But yeah, he wrote a few pearls too.
If Tom Brady’s a Spike Baby, what does that make Brees and Rodgers?

The ones written by Mel Odom are pretty good as well.

Also the Dragon Heart trilogy by Jak Koke to find out what really happened to Dunkelzahn!

Agree on Nigel Findley. His books are incredible. He was taken far too soon.
