Having convened with the team, Krestov cleared his throat as he checked his attire.  The Sleeping Tiger and Longcoat combo proved to be a more than effective high class attire on top of being functionally sound, so it seemed a good fit.  Making one last adjustment to his tie, he nodded to the team as they head out.   Looking to Slobbertooth in the van, he nodded at his decision to stay behind, tapping the microtransceiver at his own ear.  "Will be close by"

Once in line, he offered a smile and an arm to Bluebird as he watched Torrent and bnc enter the establishment.  Under his breath, he composed himself for a brief moment before they approached the hostess.  "Pleasant evening.  Believe table for two is doable, yes?"  Pheremones at work, he offered a charming smile as he bowed his head to the elf hostess, awaiting her direction for entry.

After smoothing out her Ace of Cups, Bluebird took Krestov's arm, happily. At the door, though, her butterflies started building. She'd never been in an establishment like this as a guest - Krestov looked so much more in place than she did. She looked up at him, and tried to follow his lead.

Welp, I was hoping for a 6 somewhere in there.

For the troll and the voodoo mage no table could be found at short notice. Instead they were asked to wait at the bar - though at least they got the waiting slot of a couple that had left after having been waiting for an hour.
The bar was staffed by a troll with a nicely fitting uniform. Expertly he handled bottles, flasks and glasses at a speed that made Krestov suspect that the barkeeper was a low level adept.
"What can I get you two?" he rasped moments after they had taken their seats.

"Cranberry seltzer, please." She rested her hands gently on the bar, and sighed internally. 'First fish, now a bar. Next we'll just casually grab ultrasounds as a team-building exercise.' She shifted in her bar seat, and looked around the place, avoiding whatever facial expression she was sure the well dressed bartender was making.

"At once."
The barkeeper waited for Krestov to decide on his drink, while Bluebird looked around.

The decor was quite tasteful and the bar had obviously been cleaned completely before opening. Bluebird spotted sim-starlette Vanessa Voom with her latest boyfriend two seats over. The man hovering at her side was obviously her bodyguard.
Of other guards there was nothing to see. Beside the main entrance there was only one emergency exit visible and that one was most likely alarm secured.
The waiters and waitresses all moved with alertness and alacrity, letting her suspect that they used some kind of drug to keep up their concentration for such a long time. All used the same gestures and working movements, indicating either a strict training or some kind of skill software or at least training chip. All in all the stuff seemed subdued and more like robots than real people.

Krestov stole a sidelong glance at his companion for this jaunt, but casually took a seat at the bar, doing his best to keep at least a wayward eye of wherever bnc and Torrent were placed.  After all, they were the backup team and being isolated did little good.  And he could even notice that the shorter woman was feeling a bit out of place.  At least there isn't pressure to drink from her.  Nodding his head to the bartender, he made his order.

"Same for me, please."  Casting a reassuring smile, he pervaded his aura of calm as his cybernetic eyes glanced over the place as well..mostly as a protective scan more than anything else.

Krestov didn't have eyes for the decor or for star gazing, but he also noticed the lack of physical guards - except for the bodyguard - and the placement of the exits. bnc and Torrent weren't visible from his position. If he wanted to see them, he'd have to take a stroll towards the toilets.

Carajo - what again do I owe Slobby that makes me come to a förböveln peacock enclosure like that?

"Just to make sure, sempai, you pay the drinks, don't you?"

bnc knew that her only chance to blend in was to shut her mouth and let Torrent do the talking. The very instant they joined the queue bnc realized that everything Torrent had said a couple of days ago suddenly made a horrible lot of sense.
Not that I'm going to admit it to him.

When it's their turn, she somehow miraculously manages to crack a smile, so fake that it kind of fit the environment. Isn't it a perfect world? You can tell from a hundred yards that this smile didn't even reach my nose, yet this is what they expect from each other? Every beetler is more honest than these shits. Speaking of - Torrent wasn't right, after all. I was. Crap, focus, slitch!

She turns to Torrent, whispering in his pointy ear.
Jeez, dude. I need a drink. I ain't got no clue what they drink in these fancy-wholes, so can you just be a gentleman and order me something? If you're about to start a discussion on alcohol and concentration, I'd like to point out that this is the wrong time and the wrong person to argue with about substance abuse.

Not waiting for an answer, bnc turns away from her handsome companion to study the matrix architecture of her surrounding and any possible access points. She herself shut down her deck, running only the expensive Fairlight Caliban she was presented with by Dr. Schmitt. So much for unprofessionalism, Slob. You're just jealous you didn't get a 7-k-nuyen toy although you got twice as much boobs as I have.

Bluebird opened her third eye and looked around. The restaurant itself didn't have a noticeable background count - despite the good food. People who came here had such a diverse portfolio of agendas that no one emotion was amplified. No traces of magic besides the mana barrier could be found.
The barkeeper definitely had some magic - a low level adept as she had suspected. The bodyguard was slightly augmented, she suspected some kind of reflex enhancement as well as some implants in his eyes.

bnc was greeted by an enhanced version of the restaurant - even more fairy lights and for the terminally impatient an option to order food without having to wait for a waiter. Discreet numbers on the servers showed for which sections they worked - which of course didn't stop people from asking random staff to care for them.
The equipment in the kitchens seemed to run silent because she couldn't see anything on a casual glance. Only the commlinks of the waitstaff was readily visible.

Torrent orders two old-fashioned bourbon cocktails and  as the waiter leaves, he seemingly   shifts his focus on the menu.

"What do you think? Are you going to hack via wi-fi or should we find physical access?"

After updating the team on the bodyguard, dismissing the low-level adept's skills as low to no threat, Bluebird sipped at her drink. She figured knowing that their security was possibly augmented and that they did employ magic users was enough to keep them on their toes if anything happened. She finally noticed Krestov drinking the same. She grinned. "Not drinking tonight either?" She shifted her posture, figuring she ought to relax, and have some conversation, lest she stand out as being too on guard and alert. "Hopefully we'll get a table soon."

Admittedly she was still nervous, but she trusted bnc and Torrent to alert her if something changed.

"That depends on how difficult it's gonna be to find physical access. I think I can do it wireless but since we need several things not but one, a direct access would help reduce the chance of any failures. After my mistake with the gorilla, I don't want a lapsus like this to happen again."

What assumption can bnc make about the system at the moment.
I assume that they transfer sensitive data to an archive when the restaurant is closed (otherwised it would be an insane and stupid risk to come her at all).
Is there a host for the restaurant?
Is it sensible to assume that the interesting file are inside the host?
Can I use Matrix Search to find out where the files are stored?
Can I assume that the waiters' commlinks are not directly linked to the host?
Do I know whether or net there is something like a server that keeps the data we are looking for?
