Better not. I don't approve drinking, as i don't. Ever.

Well, I did once. My girlfriend managed to convince me to take a sip of mead. I didn't like it, so I never did drink anything since. Even though a lot of people tried to force or trick me into it...

But on topic: Please don't. We have a thread about roleplaying games and alcohol in O-O-T. :)
Besides, alcohol makes people do stupid things in real life. What about games? Even worse...

@Kontact
Is that "Weston Montgomery" name at all inspired by "Wes Montgomery" the guitarist??  I spent half of college memorizing Wes solo's so if that's the case....then you freakin rock!

@Kot
I'm not much of a drinker myself....but dude, if you're only encounter with alcohol was MEAD...then ya, your sentiments are rather justified lol!

Yeah, after using Marcellus reminded me of Ellis and Wynton Marsalis, I got on a jazz trip and went for Wes.  He was a badass.

By the way, now that I've seen how you want to start the game, I've got a history for the serious build that should fit alright...

It was a job. To pick up a few outsiders, and be their guide in TriCity. Nothing else, just a forward payment (and quite a big one), and a bottle of vintage scotch. From before the Awakening. I think your character would be as much intrigued, as scared. :)

Sludig, please roll Charisma+Etiquette (4) for Bat'Oni. The Threshold will be high, because they're startled and obviously not supposed to be here.

I'm leaving for the camp in a few hours. I'll see if i can manage to post anything during the time I'm away, but don't be surprised if i won't. There will be ten teenagers to take care of, and time will be a luxury. :)

Just felt that it might be important to point out that Influence is a Permanent spell, not an Instant or Sustained.

Quote
Permanent spells must be sustained for a short time, after which their
effects become “natural” and no longer require magic or concentration
to maintain. The time required to make a spell’s effects permanent is
equal to twice the Drain Value in Combat Turns.

and the Perception test to notice someone casting magic is:

Quote
Noticing if someone is using a magical skill requires a Perception Test (p. 135) with a
threshold equal to 6 minus the magic’s Force. More powerful magic is easier to spot with
the gathered mana normally appearing as a disturbance or glowing aura in the air around the
caster. The gamemaster should apply additional modifiers as appropriate, or if the perceiver
is Awakened themselves (+2 dice), astrally perceiving (+2 dice), or if a shamanic mask is
evident (+2 dice).

So, casting it twice would take 12 seconds and take a threshold of 4 to notice the spells being cast.  Not likely to be a problem, but a consideration.

ah, so casting the spell at such a low force is actually a good thing because it gives the spell at force 2 a threshold of 4 to be noticed, and also decreases the amount of time it takes for the spell to become permanent. I don't like casting spells at low force, though, because it reduces the amount of hits that count. With a force 2 spell only 2 hits count... not a big deal in this situation, though, unless those ganger grunts have some counterspelling up.
