OOC, I had no idea what he was saying, which is where the confusion came in.

Yani's order was altered before it reached the Bartender - someone changed it into a drink so elaborate it would take a few hours to prepare... I bet he suspects whose prank that was...

Yani is gonna check his biological node to see who is accessing it.

He drops the sustained complex form, and performs an analyze node action:

Analyze 6 + Computer 5 + Technomancer inherent matrix perception bonus 2 = 13 dice, 13d6.hits(5) → [5,2,4,2,4,1,3,3,4,3,2,3,6] = 2 hits. lol, well, if that doesn't work, maybe he'll have better luck next time.

The only person accesing Yani's biological node is Yani himself. It becomes obvious that sprite just messed with the node Yani is in - the bar.

Yani is gonna start checking up on the info...

Threading Browse:
Software 5 + Resonance 6 = 11 dice, 11d6.hits(5) → [2,6,2,3,1,5,3,2,2,3,4] = 2 hits.

   Fading DV = 2 S
vs.
   Resonance 6 + Charisma 6 = 12 dice, 12d6.hits(5) → [2,6,4,5,1,2,1,5,1,4,1,4] = 3 hits.
   Fading Soaked.

Yani asks the paladin sprite to sustain the complex form for 6 combat turns, burning another task.

He does a Data Search on first war media files on the stolen urn. If it was, in fact, in an archaeological museum, Yani wants to know what its historical significance is:

Data Search 5 + Browse 2 = 7 dice, 7d6.hits(5) → [2,3,6,3,5,2,1] = 2 hits.

Edit: btw, I saw Sentinemodo's post after I did this post, so I guess we are on the same page for what we need to know.  8) My next search was even going to be about the vory, but I need to know a little more about the urn before I can do an accurate search on the vory's interest... hell, maybe yani can even ask Vabka. lol ... just need to see if Yani gets anywhere with this first browse... it's really too bad his browse sucks...

I have a bunch of skills that can be used right away to aneswer some of the mental notes, tell me if you need any rolls: Local Area Knowledge, Underworld Politics, Magic Theory,
There are also some skills in influence skills to push the negotiations if need be.

Sorry for a small delay ;)

Uncle seems to know. You can also make a proper Knowledge test with a secret threshold.

(...) mental note2: who was the late and unlamented Johnson (...)
A wealthy 'collector' whom you've once met, on a side job. Someone swapped a once-magical doodad with a prop, and you tried to follow the tracks. Didn't work out - the thing was shipped out before he hired you. You did still get paid. Other than that - again, make a test as above.

(...) mental note3: what the hell Vory wants in this (...)
Vabka is a Vory man. Or was. He obviously is the person they're interested in for some reason.
Quote
(...) mental note, check on Greg's latest achievements (...)
He's a middle man. He negotiates. And he's an expert in coaxing and carousing, as well as a man who keeps his mouth shut and his promises fulfilled. If you want to know more, ask, or make a roll. You can add his Loyalty as a bonus.

(...) mental note2: Uncle is fixing, no need for him to go on meeting with Mr. Johnson, it must be closer to him then (...)
This time? Obviously. That was something he does sometimes - 'community work', to make TriCity a better place.

Who? Vabka is a big guy, but he won't work for three. The other two are strictly business types.

I take it Yani got nothin' on his search? That's cool.
Gonna try checking the rumor mill on these "Black Men" characters. Interested in finding out what they do and who they know:

Data Search 5 + Browse 2 = 7 dice, 7d6.hits(5) → [5,2,6,6,6,2,1] = 4 hits.

Mmm... While we are here, might as well check ol' Uncle Good Advice's e-mail. He said he has leads on more money... Maybe Yani doesn't wanna rely on Uncle being nice to get more money...  ;)

(1) First, gotta find his comlink. If it's not hidden, then I found it. If it is hidden, then the following rolls are to find it. If it is not hidden, then skip to number (2)

Threading Scan Complex Form:
Software 5 + Resonance 6 = 11 dice, 11d6.hits(5) → [2,1,2,2,1,2,5,5,1,4,6] = 3 hits.
Fading DV = 3 S
   vs
Charisma 6 + Resonance 6 = 12 dice, 12d6.hits(5) → [1,3,5,6,5,1,4,3,3,1,5,1] = 4 hits. Fading Soaked.
Yani asks the Paladin sprite to stop sustaining the browse complex form and to sustain the Scan complex form for the rest of the 6 combat turns left in it's task... I estimate 4 are left.

Yani Detects Hidden Node, looking for Uncle Good Advice's Coms (this will be vs a threshold of 4, that's a static threshold for finding a hidden node that the hacker is pretty sure exists):
Electronic Warfare 5 + Scan 3 = 8 dice, 8d6.hits(5) → [2,6,5,1,1,5,3,4] = 3 hits. fail.
Yani tries again, he has 3 more tries before he has to burn another task with the paladin sprite.

Electronic Warfare 5 + Scan 3 = 8 dice, 8d6.hits(5) → [4,2,5,4,4,1,5,5] = 3. fail.

Electronic Warfare 5 + Scan 3 = 8 dice, 8d6.hits(5) → [3,5,3,2,4,5,2,5] = 3. fail.

Electronic Warfare 5 + Scan 3 = 8 dice, 8d6.hits(5) → [4,6,2,5,2,3,5,5] = 4. wow, barely got it. And the paladin sprite drops the Scan Complex form.

(2) Next, gotta get his access ID. Yani uses matrix perception to see what Uncle Good Advice's Access ID is that he is using to access his own comlink.

Computer 5 + Analyze 6 + Technomancer Bonus 2 = 13 dice, 13d6.hits(5) → [4,4,4,1,4,2,6,2,3,1,5,6,5] = 4 hits. That's enough for 4 pieces of info, so that's good enough for Uncle's Access ID and other info about the node if you wanna reveal anything else like programs being run, yada yada.

Now, yani will spoof a command to the Uncle Good Advice's comlink using Uncle's access ID to foreward all e-mails and text messages he's got in his in-box and out-box to Yani's Biological node. From there, Yani will mentally transfer them to a datachip.
opposed test between Yani's Spoof + Hacking and Uncle's System + Firewall:
Hacking 5 + Spoof 6 = 11 dice, 11d6.hits(5) → [6,2,1,4,4,3,4,4,1,5,4] = 2 hits. Ouch.
Spending a point of edge to re-roll misses: 9 dice, [url=9d6.hits(5) → [2,6,1,3,6,5,5,1,3] = 4 hits. So 6 hits total. That's more like it.

So, Kot should handle Uncle's roll, since I don't know his system or firewall ratings.

You get bits of data. Rumors, chat room speculations, and a hefty reward offer - 5k for any live, and 1k for any dead Black Man.
You manage to find out: His Commlink is a custom made wonder. It has Response 6, Signal 3, System 5 and Firewall... Well, the firewall is odd. You can try going through it, but there are telltale marks of black IC in his node. As for access, it's a no-go. He's logged in, and there's only one ID allowed to do anything. His own. You can't spoof it, because he constantly uses his ID. You've seen nodes like that - totally personalized, in a way that betrays any intruder in a few moments. He's a piece of work, that troll. He's good. You'd need some time to probe his commlink, and try finding a safe way in. There could be anything there. And you don't want to get zapped by a botnet BlackHammer trap.

P.S. Roll for Yani's Body. This stuff is hard.

lol, ok. Guess I need to know how to set a security system like that up!

Yani's Body Roll = 2 dice, 2d6.hits(5) → [1,4] = 0 hits. And Critical glitch. I spend 2 edge to reduce it to a glitch. It costs 2 edge because of my crazy paragon I chose.

Oh, so you're a bit drunk. -1 to all actions for a while.
And there's something odd about his node, also. Not technomancer-odd, but sly-hacker-job odd. Restricting the commlink to one access ID is a neat trick. Don't you think? He probably has a restriction to reboot if someone else tries to subscribe to it. Or worse. Like the mentioned Botnet on standby... But it's hackable. Just doing this now would be an unnecessary risk.
