g0ld3n: a hacker AI born from a program from a toaster. Out of the singularity of everyone wanting their toast golden came a self-awareness and curiosity. It always looked into unusual (and hidden) paydata like private research or original copies of redacted reports. g0ld3n wasn't very charismatic however it could always predict a lot about people (with analysis and evaluation).

And yes, g0ld3n did hack from a modded toaster.

[Also I had such fun with this character I even built a NAS and put the parts in a toaster :P]

TOASTY!!!  Who aaaaalways wanted to make people some version of toast.

Wait, it wanted to make some version of toast for people, or it wanted to make some version of toast from people?  ???

That´s the idea ;)

If I gotta play her, I´ll have to ask the GM to allow "Pre-Crash-Systems" as a specialiasation to the Cracking an Electronic Skills. Might fit into some interesting campaign concepts :P

Granny Smith (Formerly known as Appleseed) -  A 67-years-old former legendary Hacker/Motorcycle-Rigger, now back on the street after 20 years of retirement. Because, you know, revenge ´n´ stuff.

This works 'cause the two matrix crashes since they ran is a legitimate reason why they're a legendary hacker/rigger but there starting skill levels aren't  like the legendary 11-13 range but rather the 6  (plus specialization of course) of everyone else. Having to adjust to a whole new set of rules and all.

This isn't so much an actual character concept as a random tangent or two that occurred to me---perhaps this should go in its own thread.  First, I wanted a canine shifter shaman/thief character based on my RL dog, an ex-feral from a Native American reservation.  I haven't done it due to lack of rules mastery and no real game to play in.  But while looking at the rules for canine shifters, I noticed a sentence that sidetracked my attention a bit.  It says,( roughly, I don't have exact words handy) "Only medium and large breed dogs have been found. There are no poodle or chihuahua shifters". What hit me there is, not all poodles are toy poodles!  Standard Poodles are at least as big as a Labrador and tend to be more leggy.  So now that has me wanting to make a Standard Poodle shifter " just because ".  Face comes to mind, due simply to the insane amounts of grooming such dogs require, or you could go with the fact that actually, they aren't so soft in personality ( there was a guy who ran a team of them in the Iditarod for several years just to prove this point. He didn't win, but he always finished and was never dead last, which is more than many husky teams could say, and I personally knew one who would show up to the dog park towing his 200+ lb owner in a wheelchair, wrestle his three pit bull buddies to a standstill and trot off cheerfully as though nothing happened at the end).

So, any suggestions on either my original plan or what to do with a poodle shifter?  Feel free to PM or whatever.

I expect I would be accused of only making "Snowflakes" but the characters are fun and in turn I provide the GM with story fodder.

Lets see my favorite character is a Wolf Shape shifter Mystic Adept, she has focused on infiltration and wet work. She uses a special suit of armor designated for use by a home grown Sader-Krupp special operations team. She has initiated once during this time she developed an adept power to allow her to take on aspects of her human and would form basically a werewolf. Of course she has be in the buff or wearing cheap cloths to change. And finally she is a test bed for extremely experimental cyber ware. All internal, all too enhance her athletic abilities and aid in infiltration.

Recently built an Oni Vampire phys ad. Back story is pretty developed. Son of Yak boss, exiled, joined Knight Errant became infected, currently a test subject/employee of Knight Errant. This character focuses on charm and wit to overcome.

Made a Rat Shaman, wanted her to start with two spirits. Further discussion with the GM decided they would be two free spirits that attached to her and over time she can enhance them into ally spirits. Apparently that was a step too far for some people... bit of a brown storm brewed up over that. And this is a very tame character.

After 30 some years of the Shadowrun it comes time to spice up the arch type a bit.

A fun character I played once was Void, an overly-cybered, twitchy SURGEd ork with creepy/anti-magical qualities: critter spook, nasty vibe, magic resistance, and astral hazing.

He was a bit "off" - facial tics, manic-depressive episodes, odd little habits, and a tendency to either drone pedantically about things that he didn't quite seem to understand (Sun Tzu or Nietzche quotes when they didn't really apply to the situation, etc. - think Otto from A Fish Named Wanda), or to mumble incoherently.  Lots of fun to play.
