From Glitch's comment following Riser's upload in Hard Targets (pg 41), is the assumption that Riser is dead? The finality of the statement makes me think so, and the Smoker's Club doesn't seem likely to have gone for a live capture. Thoughts?
Also, is Rigger X still allowed on JP? It seems like this would get him banned if he hasn't been yet- I remember there being something in Storm Front or somewhere about him maybe selling out some other JP-ers? Which maybe Riser wouldn't have been privy to, having been banned himself around that time... But RX seems also to have passed along the data even though he sold Riser out, so who knows I guess...

Even selling out a member of JP won't get you kicked off, so long as you don't do it through (or using) info on JP. For example, Clockwork is still on board, despite repeated attempts to sell Netcat out.

It seems certain that Riser is dead, but we just have a third-hand account. Remember, especially in a world of magic, bodysnatching AIs, e-ghosts, and shedim, anything may be possible.

I'd say it's a fair bet that that the original Riser is dead simply by virtue of having been infected by CFD.

The Smokers Club may have killed the meatbag they knew as Riser, but a headcase could still technically survive by infection other bodies.

So, is Riser truly dead and gone? I doubt it...

Yeah, i was really enjoying the new "merged" Riser's tone in his application for re-admission. & agreed that there are plenty of opportunities for him to have "survived" in some way. 

Thanks for clearing up the betrayal/JP question too! Makes sense.
