Hi,

For a scenario I'm writing, I'm looking up for some info (Intel will be more appropriate here :) ) on the equivalent of the secret service for Tir Tairngire - so the people in charge of the Council and/or President security. I took a look into the book I own (2nd Ed Tir Tairngire, Shadows of America 3ed), but not success...

Is this cover somewhere by any chance ?

Tir Tairngire mentions the Paladins in Politics; the latter definitions include the secret service dudes in full-plate-styled mil-spec armor with swords.  Paladins are basically your oathsworn bodyguards of doom for your important VIPs.
Would you want to go into a place where the resident had a drum-fed shotgun and can see in the dark?

There isn't actually a 'Secret Service' for leaders of Tir Tairngir. As a whole, such roles would be taken by the members of the Peace Forces (either the police or military branches). High ranking members, such as the Council of Princes may get Ghosts as part of their detail, but they also have Paladins. Paladins aren't exactly bodyguards, but are more like a cadre or disciples. They often are sworn to serve and protect the person they follow, and they take those things very seriously. The thing to remember about Paladins is that they serve the individual, not the office.

And then you have hired bodyguards and the like, as well. Oh, and don't forget the Information Secretariat keeping an eye on things to try and prevent trouble from breaking out.

Right, I forgot about the Paladins indeed (despite the fact that one of my PC is a former Paladin, gosh, am I stupid sometimes). I did not find that much info on them in the Land of Promise (4ed) book (that I just remembered to checkout).

Is there some info on them on some other books ? Or maybe a novel ?

There is a subsection of the Paladins called the Bratach Gheal ("White Banner") which serves as the executive protection unit as listed in the Elite Forces thread in General.

Beyond that, don't think there is a lot of added training for the position so if you got info on Paladins you got the gist of it.

They do stat up the Ghosts in the adventure Corporate Punishment, page 35.

Do you believe in a greater WIRELESS, an Invisible(WiFi) All Seeing(detecting those connected- at least if within 100'), All Knowing(all online data) Presence that we can draw upon for Wisdom(downloads & updates), Strength (wifi boni) and Comfort (porn) or do you turn your back on it  (Go Offline)?

Some individual Paladins also serve as Agents/Shadowrunners for their patrons. More powerful patrons (Princes and the like) have larger and more various Paladins (more varied skill sets).

The SR2 Tir Tairngire (pg 40-43) book had a 2.5 page write up on Paladins which included a 1.5 pages of shadowtalk.
