No, I've learnt the hard way, that too many people is a recipe for disaster in the planning department.

I would say that was more, saying that you are a harsh GM who discourages rush actions.  :P

That`s just the swashbuckling. Dont take his barking too serriously ;)

It ended up you having right background knowledge - knew of all possible fallback plans, got a plan and executed almost flawlessly.
I had nothing to catch you on (well I had - the RFID on the dobermans, and the engines would have you killed on TR 3, but other than that you earned your Karma hard, without anybody dropping dead).
Sorry for a small delay ;)

TR 3 - ?????

P.s. this is still a recruiting thread, looking for 3 runners to join a adventure in Denver.
Beware planing!

I remember Ive posted something about cleaning RFIDS on drones. Or was it just in my mind?

isn't 'without-geting-killed' the major reason for planning a run? if the runners planned for any expected event, you just have to add some unexpected ones.

:) they did a good job on planning (albeit it took two months RL), and it was rewarded by a smooth execution, they dealt with small unexpected twists and adapted on the run, on TR 2 I wouldn't add anything more.

But it never hurt to ask: Guys, was the last run too easy?

There were parts where i was really disgusted by endless talking. So it was difficult to sit back to keyboard and write one more post, trying to move things forward.
On the other hand, there were major glitches in RMD security defence grid and we used them well against them. And we had a great level of realism on that run, that is for sure.
I`m doing this just for fun. Hope Ill get some.

The problem on that run and possibly on this one is the lack of muscle, I am Demolition expert/Face, and good just with the taser, still lats time all the fighting was mostly on me and our Mage/his spirits.  Fractal/Cursor where limited fighters, and Omar did not want to leave his rover. If we did it on the spot with on advance planing we would not have survived. thats for sure.

Suggestion to Omar, making guns with Additional clip you can easily switch between Stun and Live ammo, thats something to think when tinkering with drones. at least i usually do it this way.

I have no problem to build a killing maschine (troll with a minigun or so) if its needed. And also give him less logic so he will be a more or less quite during the planning.

Dont want to argue about this any more. Only combat skill I have is Gunnery. so thats why. And what we have seen lately, Sam could handle himself in fight quite good...
I just dont want to repeat that experience...never ever, even if it gets Omar killed, it would be better than sitting on my ass for two months talking about shit. In another PbP, Urban Brawl, we are starting the run alway almost in the middle of combat...so far we made it, and that is fun as hell. Whole run id done in week. I want that kind of experience when playing Shadowrun. Quick, fluid, maybe risky...Id like to read Gibson or Stephenson, not Dostojevsky...

you got me thinking here and I was wondering if something can be done about it i my games.

I am not following rigorously the urban brawls, but I take a look at them from time to time. Its true that dropping you ten seconds before the combat and ending the run right after it is fun, but this aren't this kind of runs. They include both the initial Johnson scene (as repetitive as it get after fifth time), and the planning phase and the run execution (include one or more combats).

The central point of the last one was planning (how to take down the company) - it just grown to monstorus dimensions
The central point of this one is cracking a criminal case - we'll see how this will go.
In neither of those combat is central, even that it could be reduced to it. I could have given you a plan to attack the facility, and run the scene with combat.

Sadly I am not following any of the games you GM, are they going more to your like?
