Hi,

I just finished reading Aztlan (ugh, those people are vile) and Market Panic, in which Azteca has a new CEO.

Whatever happened to Juan Atzcapotzalco, and what book(s) was it detailed in, if at all?

He seemed really creepy and intriguing, and I couldn’t find anything really on his end. Or anything revealed after Aztlan.

Any information appreciated!

Dunklezahn gave him a box in his will. On The Day of the Dead, he wa sto come in, pick it up, and open it.

He did so.

After which he looked around, said "Thank you," and left.

Never seen again.

He was assassinated during the Yucatán Peace Summit in 63/64 or so. The unreleased book Shadows of Latin America has the actual details. Other than that, it was also in SR4 material. Can't remember where I read it, Running Wild on Dzitbalchén maybe?

Anyway, rumor has it he's a cyberzombie or an immoral human...or both...

Juan is dead. Assassinated like Deathstrobe says....

Aztec blamed in on a dragon and sacraficed it during a live execution. (Can't remember its name).

But even before that, Juan was.... off. There where rumors that he had died years before and that 'something' was using his body as a meat suit. But those have never been confirmed.

I’m glad they did something with him. The new CEO seemed excessively bland from what little was said of her in Market Panic.

Don't forget Aztechnology - or parts thereof - are probably still seething a bit that their Denver Plan A didn't come off. Their Plan B worked (apparently) but was comparatively lacking in finesse.

I don’t actually know much of anything about Denver. What was Aztech’s plan for it?

To get back in there after being kicked out by the great dragon Ghostwalker in 2061. Preferably over Ghostwalker's dead body.

Dzitbalchén was implicated in the terrorist attacks on the Yucatan Peace Summit, where Juan ended up dead; I'm not sure if those implications were actually true (I don't think the source material states this one way or another), but the net result was that the feathered serpent was captured and executed for the crimes. If memory serves, it was the autopsy of his remains, not the execution, that was widely broadcast.

Both were broadcast as I recall.

The execution had the lovely clip of Dzitbalchen's sire/mate/mentor bouncing off a physical barrier spell that was over the area... just in case someone tried to free him....

But it was the autopsy that drive the dragon community nuts (and believed to be partly responsible for Surrig's temperament towards Aztec....)

The black market sale of reputedly 'dragon burgers' in certain high level circles afterwards didn't help either. ;)

Spicy if a bit gamey....

The autpsy drove dragons up a tree, yeah, and when you talk dragons and trees, you're talking Sirrurg.

The Destroyer might be dead (well, according to Aztlan), but his followers are still out there in, admitedly, diminished numbers.

And with Aztlan taking up the mantle of 'Dragon slayers', you can see how much of metahumanity has rallied behind that flag.

Peace in the Yucatan, but at what price, neh?

Ooh, that's a good point; the Yucatan.  Now that Aztech has taken on Sirrurg, maybe they'll try to lance that 'infestation' again soon...  Pablo is still lurking in the Yucatan as a possibly Toxic, possibly Great Dragon in charge.  I'll need to keep an eye on that for an old character of mine...

Sirrurg may have gone into the Yucatan to hide, but Pablo is nowhere near GD material.
