I'll start with, Please don't flame me, lol

I've been toying with a character concept for quite some time but need some advice on striking a proper balance.

It's a character built on backstory, not numerical superiority so please, keep the flaming down to a minimum.

Was a DocWagon threat response team member.  Ended up on the wrong side of some heavy artillery.  Lost a good portion of the body.
The body was rebuilt with cyber bits which damaged but didn't destroy the characters spell casting.  They were then dismissed with severence from Docwagon and became a runner.  The character will be a healer/buffer caster,  Purely support magics.  They will do all its combat with meat and metal.

I'm looking for 2 types of feedback from you guys,
#1 How would you prioritize a character like this assuming you wanted to afford a couple cyberlimbs, interface but not deck, maybe some eyes and ears?
Differing ideas are welcome, I'd like to see it from a couple different angles.

#2 I'm not sure how this kind of characters interaction with the spirit world will be affected.  Your thoughts?

Useful Cyberlimbs run 75k to 100k each so if you actually want the Cyberlimbs to do stuff you'll need at least a B, probably an A in Resources.

Full caster is at least a C.  Summoning, Spellcasting, and all that is a lot of skill points, usually At least a B.

So to hit your stated requirements you're looking at Resources A, Skills B, Magic C, Stats D, Meta E for a starting point and see if you can get something you like.

You're likely going to need to buy your Magic back up to 1 with Karma after the Cyberware.

Way of the Burnout is something you may consider.

Good luck.

How much essence (and thus, MAGIC) are you giving up to ware?

Keep in mind, the more you give up, the harder you have it as a mage.... (since Magic is the limit for force of spells before physical drain...)

From there, you can figure out what type of ware fits your loss...
Where am I going? And why am I in a hand basket ???

Remember: You can't fix Stupid. But you can beat on it with a 2x4 until it smartens up! Or dies.

Several ways to go, I would recommend:

A: Magic, with spellcasting and counterspelling as the two skills - forget summoning with the hit to Magic you will take.
B: Resources, mainly to get two good cyberarms plus cybereyes, for 2 to 3 points of Magic loss.
C: Attributes - take an Intuition tradition, make Agility, Strength, and Charisma dump stats (the former two because you will be using cyberarms for that).
D: Skills - one ranged and one melee skill, a low assensing skill, a few other basic runner skills such as perception.
E: Metatype - human, 3 Edge still isn't bad.

Not practical at all if it was a combat mage, but functional as a healing/utility mage where high spell force and lots of successes are not quite as important.  Be sure you are actually okay with a concept character - ask yourself if you will care whether other characters outperform you, or not.

I went with this priority loadout and liked how things came out.
It all fit in with the character story I had in my head.  The grenade took off his right arm and a lot of his face.  So I ended up with a lot of headware and 1 full arm with internal weaponry.
Also fit in a decent skillwire system.
My magic is only 2 to start but I can pump it to 3 after a few sessions, 3.3 essence remaining(should I ever actually find a game).
I got a bear spirit mentor to help with his healing spells.  He's all healing and detection for magic, increase reflexes is his big buff.
He came out as a Support mage/Mini-face  good social skills, lots of skill/know/linguasofts and a decent spread of contacts.

I'm not worried about being outperformed, sure the street sam will hit harder, the Full mage will blow thing up, but I'm not there to do the most damage, I'm there to keep the others alive with a combination of magics, skills, and well placed witticisms.
