<<So you're back at the house? Okay, I'm on my way!>> Directing the car back to Elaine's house, she sits back and reflects on the day. "I didn't think things could get any crazier, but apparently I've been cursed with an 'interesting' life recently. Not really sure what to think about that Sian girl. And this toy that's supposed to give me protection? That's just weird!" Arriving at the house she steps out of the car and lets herself in. Hearing the door open, Robin calls from the main living area and Rose heads that way. Going into the room the scene is almost like one from an action trid. There's a pile of ledgers stacked haphazardly on a chair while two women sit at a table counting piles of cash. Rose can't help but laugh, "You guys should see yourselves. All that's missing is a pile of drugs in the corner!"

Wednesday  13 June 2075  1930  Elaine's House   Seattle


Both women look up and laugh as you enter the room and Elaine points a finger to where a small satchel sits on the floor.  "Careful what you say.  It seems that Howard was into some sort of drugs.  Don't have any idea what they are, and I am not sure what they would be doing in that locker."    She sighs and sits back in the chair as she waves a hand at the money.  "Looks like just about a million nuyen here.  Split three ways, that is a chunk of change for each of us."

Robin stands and comes to give you a kiss and a hug.  "Mmmm, you feel good.  Now, talk some sense into her, will you?  I have been telling her that she does not need to split this even up, but she is not listening.  And how are you?"

"Well, I think I've got a way to get the ledgers to the Oyabun without us getting killed in the process, maybe I can dump the drugs the same way and maybe get something for them? Although, how much more than a million we'd need, I'm not sure," she laughs.

Enjoying the hug from Robin she responds, "Well, it's her money, or, I guess, her's and Howard's, and if she wants to share it out, she can. Don't discount that we did help with getting it in the first place." She grins and turns to Elaine, "That said, don't feel obligated to do anything. You're the one that's going to need to set up a new life for yourself. But we've got to get this one resolved first. I'll need to take one of the ledgers tomorrow as proof of what we have, and then things should hopefully move quickly after that. I'll try and offload those drugs at the same time, assuming you don't want to keep them? As for the money, it might be good to secure it somewhere else until this is all resolved? Wouldn't want Howard sending people over looking for it, right?"

Both other women laugh, but Elaine gets a serious look on her face. "As for this money, I have already contacted the bank and arranged for three safety deposit boxes and we can take the money over tomorrow.  In my opinion, you can take the drugs and ledgers to your contact and see if they can be sold or traded.  And I would like to talk about us.  Well, I had hoped that you would not throw me out now that there is money.  I have grown rather fond of the two of you and would like to talk about all of us living together on a permanent basis, which is why I was thinking of an even three-way split of this."

"Well we had already thought about letting you stay with us if needed while you got back on your feet, so that wouldn't have been a big deal. Our current place isn't really set up for three people though, so we'd have to find someplace new for the three of us. A million nuyen buys a lot of house though! Have you figured out what you'd want to do once you're free of this? Or were you just going to be our kept woman?!" Rose grins at Robin who reaches out to high five her. Rose shakes her head, "You're such a boy sometimes..."

Elaine smiles, too, and shakes her head.  "Not sure what is going to happen.  This place takes quite a bit of money every month just in upkeep costs and I do not really have any real reason to stay here, so a new start in a new place might be nice.  Or do you two think we can manage to stay here?  It does have a lot of comforts and we could hire new staff."

Rose laughs, "You really think Howard is just going to let you take ownership of this place uncontested? No, regardless of if it's with us or not, you need to get away from here and hopefully make it so he can't reach you in the future. If he manages to weasel his way out from under these ledgers, he's not going to be very pleased with you, even if you give him back access to the joint account. Plus, while a million sounds like a lot, I bet that wouldn't even cover this place for 5 years, let alone get you a new life."

Elaine pouts and sticks her tongue out at you.  "Party pooper.  But you are right, of course.  It does cost a lot and I certainly do not have any income coming in to speak of.  So, a new place it is.  And I think that you are also right about Howard.  He will not go quietly and he has a way with being able to talk his way out of problems, and he will not be happy if.....when....he finds out I used the ledgers and took the money.  Let's get all of this put away somewhere.  I think we deserve a small private celebration and can't wait to get both of you naked in a bed."

"I hate to be a buzzkill, but I'm not sure we should have this stuff here over night with no security." She waves her arm at the assorted goods in the room. "You said the bank wouldn't be available till tomorrow? I could have the stuff taken to a somewhat safer place than here... or do you know if you can recode the lock on that secret room, Robin?"

OOC:  I am very sorry.  I was away for the weekend.  The cabin was supposed to have internet access, but did not.


Robin thinks for a moment then nods.  "Sure.  I should be able to do that.  I can do the locks on the doors, garage, and gate as well, if you like?"  She sets to work on the code while you and Elaine pack up the money and the drugs.  As you pick up the small pouch of drug vials, you notice a small logo on it, indicating the pouch is from Flint Labs.

OOC: No biggie. Holidays are nice.

"Oh, okay, that would be great then. We can stash all the stuff down there for the night." Picking up the drugs, she reads the label on it, "Were you two able to figure out what this is? Says on here it's from Flint Labs. Either of you know anything about them? With everything else that's going on, I'm not sure it's something we want to mess with...?"

Robin frowns.  "Something about that name.  Let me send Paul out to check while I fiddle the locks."

Elaine looks surprised and mouths the word "Paul" at you with a questioning look.  You have heard Robin refer to the agent she has on her deck as Paul.

Rose shrugs as Robin zones out, "She's got an assistant program she calls Paul for some reason. I don't question as it seems to work pretty well," she laughs. "So that sounds like everything is taken care of for tonight, or almost so. Did I miss anything else while I was out? Tomorrow is going to be another busy day." She makes small talk with Elaine until Robin finishes setting up the locks, then helps the other two women take the assorted booty down to the secret room where they stash it in the office. Hearing the door re-lock after they return to the living room, Rose feels a weight lift off her shoulders. "So that should be okay for the night. Any word on Flint?"
