"Well, this is certainly getting the job done," Skate thinks to herself as Marcus bullies his way through the meager resistance and the team loads the canister onto the van. "Charmer or not, we've got the goods, we didn't have to kill anyone, and I'm not any poorer. All's well that ends well, right?" Returning to Marcus' vehicle, she takes the time to disassemble her shotgun again, rewraps it, and stows it in the smuggling compartment before hopping back into the passenger seat. <<Well, stopping us hasn't worked real well so far, might as well hear what the guy has to say.>>

"If this is has the possibility of an ambush I may need to smuggle my Ak and Defiance out of my sleep tank. I can't just strap them to my back and ride. Id be stopped in a heartbeat. Kereina can I use your van provided our mysterious contact gives us the time to prep for the meet?" He messages.

"I'll buy a duffel bag on the way and keep it with you in the passanger seat. That way I can use my ride and you can carry someone else if needed. Sound good?"

>> Alf <team> I'm interested in hearing this offer.  Let's just make sure we sweep the site with drones and astral, and have some overwatch set up.

astralYou go back to the plane.  You are greeted by a very angry dwarf and his friend.  They look at you and say Get what you came for?  Then go!  They don't do anything stupid, but you can tell you might not be welcomed back as easily[/b]

In the physical-You sneak what you need to, take what you came for, and can easily leave.  As you leave, you make the calls and texts you have to....

Dr. Tate callWhen you call, Dr. Tate says Hello!  I see you have the package.  I'm the interested in party in the side job. I'll text the rest of you the details, but from what I can see, it's just a powerful herbicide.  it will kill you if you drink it, but you should be fine as long as you don't sit and huff it out of a paper bag.

Answer the call about more money- Hello. I am not 100% sure what Sid has hired you to do, but assuming it is illegal and against a corporate target I could augment your wages. While I can't be sure that my request will not interfere with your mission without knowing details, I can assure you that I do not consider it to be very likely. Are you interested?

Deciding to let Vexboy handle this for now (after Marcus' stunt, he's now only the second biggest liability on the team, in Pepperface's book at least), Pepperface continues to monitor the communications over the Matrix, before sending a message privately to the team: <<I'm willing to hear out offers. I was just advocating caution.>>

Marcus reviewed the incoming messages and composed one of his own to the team.

"We'll do the job; I know this guy and trust them more than that scumbag Gambetti. Also, one of my contacts tells me the chemicals we've got is a powerful herbicide, so let's keep that drek contained, neh?"

He shifted in his seat as the rough ground of the Barrens kept his vehicle bouncing, and mentally sent off another message to Dr. Tate. "Excellent. We're in; what's the job?"

Amused at Marcus stepping all over Vexboy's attempt at engaging with the new mystery Johnson, she sends a message just to Vexboy, <<Probably shouldn't try and take point on your very first run, chummer.>> Content to let Marcus direct things as long as they're going her way, she settles into the car seat and keeps an eye out for any retribution from the Terminal riffraff.

Alf leaves with a sour feeling.  He'd like to come back and try and help these people, but he might not get a chance.  The work he'd done the previous week had ended up being very educational, on top of leaving him with a good feeling.  If he could keep his expenses under control and keep landing gigs like last run and this one, hopefully he could keep finding people he could help.  If his so-called teammates didn't manage to stain him by association.

To the team he comments "Well, we didn't make any friends back there -- I hope none of us ever end up needing friends in the part of the sprawl in the future.  If we could manage to complete the rest of this without pissing off people we don't need to piss off, that would be excellent.  I'm not against making additional money, so let's figure out who is making us an offer."

I don't think it was Dr. Tate who made us the offer -- Marcus sent Dr. Tate a picture of the markings on the tank, asking what it might be and what dangers it posed.  I think the offer was from some so-far-anonymous person.

The call with the new Mr. Johnson Excellent, I knew I could work with professionals such as yourselves. I will pay you each 500 nuyen to drop a biological sample near the scene of your crime in a place which is likely to be searched after your crime is commit ted, and where is not likely to be destroyed. The sample is safe if you don't ingest it, and consists of some skin cells that belong to a rival of mine.  Simple side job to get you a little extra pocket money.  What do you say?

"So 500 just to frame someone? This a normal thing in runs?" Vexboy asked curiously.

Not unheard of, I'm a little more used to framing a corp than a single person, but same idea really. As long as I don't know the poor hoop, null sheen. Kereina intones over the speakers to her passenger on the way to get his bag of goodies.
