I'm cool with that. The team meeting was just a bit of RP-ing anyways, I just thought it would be cool to have all our characters talk to each other at once, since it's been such a long time.

Okay, so first off, everyone take a Karma point for the great role-playing and continued posting I have seen during this down time.  Thanks for keeping things going.

Second, both because I like the scene you guys have set and because I am still trying to get a solid handle on full-time work+full time school+kids home for the summer, I am going to leave that to play out for a bit, though I would like to set a little direction to the conversation before things completely devolve into small talk, namely the business of formalizing yourself as an official running crew.  Whatever that might mean to your characters, may i suggest that topics that should be discussed are types of work taken (including things you won't do and people you won't work for), group funds and goals (are you going to name yourselves?). and anything you might expect of each other.  Some tactical and social norms could be settled too (who shoots who, which fixer do you use to find work).

Thirdly on the OOC side I wanted to get your thoughts on where we go next, the last adventure was kind of crappy towards the end, if anyone wants a PDF of the adventure to see how bad it was I will be glad to send it to you, and to be honest I am not at all excited about the idea of taking this group through the next published Horizon book, since it involves essentially moving you all to Japan, permanently from what I can tell.  I am not quite sure about dropping you into the the Artifacts series yet, but I will acquiesce if the group wants to overwhelmingly.  I was also considering doing some adventures from the Missions campaigns that are based in Seattle, I am not sure how familiar any of you are with those.  Looking to pick brains here, so speak up.

I was one point away from being able to afford initiation, so I took a few specializations this time around. Can I drop the specializations and get that Initiate grade instead?

I'm really down to do the Artifacts quest line.

Sure, I assume you are self initiating?

Yes, so that's 13 karma for Grade 1 initiation. I'm taking an additional power point and using that for 2 ranks in spell resistance.

Purchasing
Item - Price - Availability
Armored Vest - 600¥ - 4
w/ Fire Resistance R9 - 900¥ - 4
Total - 1500¥ - 8

I'd also like to add pyrophobia as a negative quality for characterization purposes/

@Mercy: I found optional rules that can help you overcome your armor limit. As they're optional rules, you'll have to confer with Crossbow.

Quote from: Arsenal pg. 44
Tweaking Armor Encumbrance
As noted under Armor and Encumbrance, p. 161, SR4A, whenever
a character’s Ballistic or Impact armor rating exceeds his Body x
2, the character risks a penalty for being overburdened. If you’re looking
for a game with less record-keeping and where characters can pile
on a bit more armor for survival purposes, try one of these options:

• Ignore armor encumbrance entirely if a character is simply wearing
a single armor item (even if that’s a full body armor suit). Only
apply encumbrance when a character is stacking armor or using a
lot of armor accessories (helmet, shield, forearm guards, etc.).

• Allow characters to buy customized armor that is specially-tailored
for their specific bodies (much like how military-grade
armor is fit to each person). Custom-fit armor could either
ignore encumbrance entirely, or increase the armor allowance
to Body x 3.

I haven't read any of the missions, so I am fine with either the Seattle stuff or going abroad. I'll leave this to the group.

For my character going abroad would be difficult given my background and what we've been doing around that background in the last downtime.  I don't mind switching characters if the rest of the group really wants to do that.  I have other mages I can dust off (I have a mercenary mage somewhere I can dust off and she has the same talismonger as Sammy, so from an RP perspective, it should be easy).

I've not yet done any missions in Seattle, only about half of the ones from Denver, so those would be fine for me.

You want some extra resistance I assume.  I've also added counterspelling to my list of skills, as that was one I was missing.

O'Connor's been one shotted by magic too often for my liking. I imagine a physical adept's initiation would take the form of extreme training versus a mage's intense studying or a shaman's deep meditation. To that end, O'Connor is going to enlist Sammy's aid after this meeting.

You mean, like stunbolt you and you have to resist. :o :)
Sure, why not.

So, Crossbow, about those armor optional rules Necro mentioned....................are you inclined to accept either of them?

I'd be fine if those rules applied only to Snow's character, if that helps.

If I were to use those rules, they would be universal, but no, I think at this point she just needs to learn to make better use of cover.  Spending some money and essence on mods or karma on stats is her way to get better.

Just wondering, is O'Conner trying to get a strrt name to stick, because I kinda like Starlet and we can finally avoid the Sam/Sammy conundrum.   ;D

O'Connor means it as an insult from one piece of Barren trash to another (former) piece of Barren trash. He calls her that when he's annoyed or angry with her. He's got insult-names for most of the group that he's yet to use. Sam is Snake Tongue, the insult is self apparent. Clem is Termie, in reference to Terminator (I assume that the Hollywood of the Sixth World is just as creatively bankrupt as our Hollywood so is still remaking/rebooting old franchises.) The insult being that while deadly, she's cold and rigid. Snow doesn't have one yet.
