Since we've played every current SR Mission, our GM is going back to Season 4 and updating them to 5th edition rules.

Since we aren't playing 'Official' Missions we are allowed to go crazy with whatever we want to play.  What Missions banned things are fun and worthwhile to play ? Blood Magic, Dissident Technomancer, Shapeshifter, Pixie with a machine gun, Vampire...etc, etc.

I'm looking for Mission banned character concepts.  Pink mohawk is a bonus prize.

I'm on an Overwatch kick right now.  Make Junkrat with high edge and revels in murder.  Kind of basic with just the banned quality.

I've been pondering how to create the Reaper.
Since teleportation isn't a thing in SR, it needs to be a combination of smoke bombs from Hard Targets, Invisibility and Vampiric Speed with a ghoul or vampire as basis. Dual wielding shotguns with shortened barrels and stocks is just the icing on the cake.

While browsing Howling Shadows I just had an idea for the most stupid/abusive character concept:

You take a Stirrup Interface and a Rigger Interface and install both into yourself. Now you go VR and jump into your own body. Add an internal router and you don't even need any matrix support. Now, get also a high rating pilot program installed to keep your body moving while you are doing something else in VR.

Bonus points if you are a Shifter and are somehow allowed to take deltaware implants

And you have just described the Holy Grail of Rigging. Sadly it has yet to work in the World, since those technologies do not work reliably on Humanity (meta or not). One could argue that it SHOULD work on Shifters since they are animals first, and this is exactly how you get Biodrone Animals. Not sure if it would fly, though. :)

Of course, you are doing this with banned concepts, so More power to you and good luck. :) 8)

Not sure if it's possible (Probably could be done with a custom tradition), but I'd love to see a toxic blood mysad necromancer. Bonus points for marrying an insect shaman and trying to destroy the world.

Edit: Here's another one that would be tough to build - a decker or rigger mage, aspected to spellcasting, who uses their spells to augment their work. Bonus points for a pixie.

That's not tough to build at all. I've done it before and posted it here on the forums.  Specifically Decker Sorcerer.

Jeeze.  It would almost sound stupid until you realize we're talking about an immortal elf clown sword fighting a dragon ghost in a mall.

I guess it's not the spells I would have leaned towards - Decrease Noise and Fix would have been on my list, along with Increase Attributes of some type where relevant.

I do have Increase Attributes in the two most important attributes--  Logic and Intuition, along with the means to cast them without a sustaining penalty.  Decrease Noise is a bad spell--  You need a lot of successes for it to matter, and unless you're also using a focus to sustain it, the penalty from that will make it even more worthless for countering noise.

Seriously.  Assuming you're accepting the -2 penalty, you would need 24 dice to have a positive effect, on average.  24 vs 15 (Min. Object Resistance of a deck) for three net hits, to lower Noise from 3 to 0, resulting in 1 dice more for your matrix actions.  Not to mention the Overwatch Score increase from this spell every minute...

Fix likely only repairs physical damage, which decks do not usually get, but either way, it can only be used once per object, ever.  It's also a crap spell, and would again be difficult to cast because of a deck's high Object Resistance.  So even if you did cast it, expect to repair maybe two or three boxes, once, then never again.

Revels in Murder, Prototype Transhuman, Shifter build.

Either an Adept or an Edgenomancer of some kind should be pretty doable and very Pink Mohawk if you want.

Stats A, Race B, Skills C, Resources D, Magic E for the Edgenomancer?  Adept really depends on the Shifter type.

Edit: Falcon/Elf with a Monowhip or Mono Garrote for really Pink Mohawk...

Vulpine worked out "better" for Priority/Edge.  Falconine spends 5 more Karma and loses a point of Edge.  May be worth it, depending on how much mileage you think you could get out of the different animal forms.  Vulpine is really only good for sneaking around.  17 dice of Sneaking around mind you, plus whatever you get for being a smallish Fox that wouldn't raise an Alarm if spotted anyway.

So, there is a whole lot of things that wouldn't fly at some tables.  TBH, most tables.  But "Off the Rails"  and "go crazy" and "Pink Mohawk Bonus Prize" was the OP's request.

Combat, Face, and Stealth all covered.  Handful of Karma and Nuyen left to cover some of the odds and ends.  First run needs a fake SIN and a Lifestyle and you'll want to work out some kind of backstory so you know at least one of the runners somewhat.  Personally I'd tie the Prototype Transhuman and Bad Debt together with some story about hiring one or more of the other Runners to break you out of the lab.  Just me.

Many details left blank to be filled in.  The Monowhip and Flesh Pocket are just to be as silly as possible.  Automatics and other Bioware could really be better.  Or flip Resources and Magic and go Adept and re-do the qualities completely.

“Off the Rails”  - Rough Draft

Allergy (Sunlight, Mild), Low-Light Vision, Keen-eared, Nocturnal, Unusual Hair (Colored Fur)

I'd be grabbing Escape Artist and Locksmith and a few other odds and ends at 1 point with the left over Karma.  YMMV.  You're really the ultimate infiltrator as you can just mail yourself into just about any where.

Pornomancer ? Shifter with a monowhip pouch ?!  Love them !

I had to look up Friends in High places...  then laughed my ass off.

I had never even looked at the Shifter section until now.  Just wow. They can have ware now.

Sadly Drake was in 4th ed ? Maybe 3rd.  The editions tend to blur together.

Yep. They start with a steep karmic debt and Wanted. As soon as that 50-70 karma is paid off, they can shift to dracoform, which all have hands now. And ranged elemental attack for most. Option for spending karma for upgrades too. Sometime I should crunch some numbers, see how a mystic adept compares at the same karma level a drake without karma debt is, mimicking the powers as close as I can.
