Alright, I'll get an IC up later today, but here's what I'm thinking as a bare minimum of a plan.

1. start digging into the personnel files of the guards that we can reasonably impersonate.

2. start digging into the personnel files of Dr. Nelson.  Ditto his bank accounts to see if we can find out what bars he likes to go to.

3. Speak with the Dr. to find out which floor the samples are in.  It's probably the 8th, but Chaim won't want to make assumptions about such things.

4. The team makes a preliminary trip to the hospital to put meat eyes on the place and give Ichante a chance to check out their astral security.

5. Pixel rewrites the schedule, putting our 4 matching guards on the floor with the sample on the graveyard shift for the night of our insertion.  Bonus points if she can do this in a way that doesn't actually alert those guards that they're supposed to come in at that time.  If that's not possible we'll need to subdue them someway.  Chaim would prefer not to leave a trail of bodies.

6. Night of, we get Pixel a direct connection to the hand drier, or something, and Pixel loops vid feeds while we do our business, get Pixel in the lab to do her business, and abscond with the McGuffin.

7. Profit.

Very open to suggestions.  What do you chummers think?

Okay been reading and think I'm caught up! yep bad enough they had me working out of town overnight for something totally unnecessary...worse that someone decides their phone is more interesting than not hitting my car  >.> Still really sore and stiff....and tired since getting comfortable isn't easy. Anyhow I'm going to go to the IC thread and try to slip back in IC without making a mess of it!

Okay there posted up :) Again sorry things got so derailed...I have the worse luck for things I swear....now before I try to lie down again here's the ooc parts of it...

Pixels Deck is configured to Attack 3 Sleaze 6 Data Proc. 5 and Firewall 5

She is currently using Agent, Stealth and Edit on her deck while she pokes around. Her direct actions I will do in a next post just so peeps can have the chance to make any last minute requests or changes IC in response to her statement :)

Why are you apologizing? It's a good post. I think you'll find most of us prefer lots of detail.

I like rednblack's overall plan. On that note, I think we should draw a distinction between #4 (preliminary trip) and the rest of the plan. I think impersonating guards is as good of a plan as any but it's also a few steps down the road. Before we get too far down that path, we should do a preliminary visit and just take a look with our own eyes.

To that end, perhaps Pixel can insert a small delegation - Chaim and Ichante and whomever else - as dignitaries receiving a tour, or inspectors, or outside consultants, or anything else that would give us a not-terribly-sensitive tour of the premises. That, in turn, will help inform the final plan with the guard impersonation.

To Pixel's IC question, Ichante will be curious to know if the hospital has its own on-site magical security or if they contract it out to an outside provider. Are there spirits on patrol, or magicians wandering around astrally? That sort of thing.

IC Eddie would rather stay out of the hospital, seeing as how he has a mild aversion of the things. OOCly Eddie makes a better scout than Pale Horse dice pool wise, and Eddie has no social skills and a -2 to everything inside, so definitely bring Pale Horse as the intimidating tough-guy bodyguard.

A MILD aversion? I'd say you're putting it mildly by saying so

Pixel: As per your search with Alice and the request for roof access through Eddie; there is roof access through a single staircase and an elevator maintenance shed. Both are maglocked from what you can tell in matrix.

Alice will return to you as soon as you are able to see her again with the following info:
Buildings in the area are largely older and have a lot of requests for renovation, but something keeps shooting down their proposals, almost like someone is trying to make sure the area becomes less desirable to the average consumer. The sewer and drainage pipes are a tangled mess as new and old construction over the years have overlaid onto one another, borrowing tunnels in some cases, while digging whole new ones in other cases. There is one other interesting bit of information though - there was a dig permit approved at Newhaven about two years back, but there are no references to a basement on any public blueprints.

I put this in OOC so you can RP Alice as you see fit.

Hehe, fine; a Moderate aversion :)

And sweet; roof access is go, and there is even an elevator shaft! I'm totally thinking Eddie should Ocean's Eleven this place...

ETA:
Bugger, no records of a basement in public blueprints and shady circumstances around sewer and water lines? I bet they're hiding ghouls and other nasties below ground, so it wouldn't show up on a casual Astral scan... Looks like might need to go deeper, no pun intended :)

Well, this job just got a whole lot easier, a whole lot more difficult, and/or a whole lot more profitable.

Wow.

Alright I made a post of Pixels night of data gathering...I kind of put all her efforts into one post but in game terms thats hours of actions and work. Just wanting to keep things running along :) Now...I know there were some rolls made for me while I was busy being crashed into sooo...do I go by those? or...do these actions require me to roll some new things?

Most of the rolls are already covered, but I will add a couple. Roll a sleaze test to sneak about unnoticed by the regular programs, an edit test to successfully copy the memo correctly (take an additional 2 dice since you have real copies to go off of), next a matrix search roll for the key card usage (or if you are asking the system to search for you, then make it a spoof command test), and finally a final sleaze test to gain access to the camera system. If you succeed on the camera one, I'm not going to make you roll to see what they look at, or be able to copy a quick shot of what they see, since that's not really invasive in any way. Otherwise, nice description of all the actions, good job with describing the way the matrix and the hospital server specifically looks!

So, CraterShip; assuming we can find some more information about this possible basement, what would it take for Eddie to recon the sewers?

I'd probably want to buy a gasmask and a spare air tank or two with my own money (avail - so should be able to just walk into a Kong Mart or something and pick one up) to avoid negative modifiers for the smell, but that should be about it. If we're going after a possible cure for HMHVV, though, there might be nasties down there so I'd definitely be taking it slow and steady :)

Just to continue the OOC discussion of what's next:
I like the idea of reconning the grounds, and Eddie would ideally like to try to get eyes up top to assess the actual security features. He would also, grudgingly, agree to recon the sewers assuming we don't have any other ways of doing that.

That being said, Pixel does have two Fly-Spy drones, so we could in theory just send those out right away to get a closer look at both the sewers and the rooftops, if only so Eddie can review the footage and make a qualified guess about relative security levels for those two potential ingress/egress routes. Noise could be a problem in the sewers, but Eddie would be happy to go down with the drone if it means getting forward scouting capabilities.

We could also have Pixel look for more information on the sewer system through public channels, just to cover our bases and allow the others time to do their thing. With Pixel and Eddie occupied with recon, that leaves Chaim, Ichante, and Pale Horse to prep for and execute the initial walk-through of the facility under the cover of Pixel's trumped up IDs.

Sounds like the beginnings of a plan to me.
