redUblack:- i'm with you on that too many "and then we just"s on the  roof route and yes the sewer entrance does fill me with dread

GM:- if you can have a smoke bomb that  throws smoke or a nail bomb that throws nails can you have wood bomb that throws wood (that the test subjects have a vulnerability to wood that is if not then flame thrower it is

Hahaha I see what you mean now. However, I don't know that wood could work as a shrapnel device very well. Too much splinter and combustion chance. While some wood would go flying, there's no guarantee that any of the wood would embed into anything. Also, for the time being, there is evidence that there is not a test subject, at least in one of the rooms, and no guarantee that any subject is actually a full ghoul.

So, now it sounds like we're leaning towards a stealthy sewer entrance? With Pixel still posing as a visitor?

I had pictured Pixel coming with the sewer team if only to keep the team together. I know the idea was to get a direct connection on something in the hospital but it seems to me like that would be equally possible in the basement. If anything, it seems more likely in the basement since the basement might be on an entirely different host where direct connecting in a hospital room upstairs wouldn't matter at all.

To be clear, Ichante does not want to go in through the sewers. If anything, her habit of fastidiously cleaning herself will be sent into overdrive if she's forced to march through sewer pipes. (She lives in the Underground, so that part's no problem, but her fear of large bodies of water might start to flare up if the sewer is partially flooded from all this rain, especially since she's short.) But, even given all that, she doesn't like the idea of getting in through the roof and not knowing where to go next, or having that distance be exposed for potential detection. So she'll be reluctantly voting for the sewer unless someone can convince her that the rooftop entry isn't as exposed as it seems.

FYI, I pinged Pixel last week and heard back right away. Evidently there was a bout of illness combined with juggling kids' back-to-school schedules that kept her offline. She assured me that she was still with us and would post again soon, but ff course we haven't heard from her since. We can nudge her again in a day or two.

I don't know where Herr went. When someone goes from posting 4+ times per day to no posts for a week straight you usually figure that something happened OOCly. You just hope it's temporary and not too serious, whatever it is. I'll reach out to him.

I think our best bets are either going in as security guards, with Pixel going in separately as a visitor, or the entire group going in through the sewers.  If there was a way that we could figure out about gaining access to the basement's elevator via a shaft I'd be down for the roof access, but without that being cleared away I don't think it's our best bet.  Chaim will vote for the sewer, and keeping the team together.

Any thoughts on Neuro-Stun?  Unless anyone voices opposition to that, Chaim will put in an order for 5 aerosol grenades of Neuro-Stun IX.  I think the 10 minutes before it goes inert will actually be good for us, as opposed to 1 minute for NS X.  Chaim will also buy gas masks for anyone in the team who doesn't already have one.

I'm also hoping that Herr is ok.

ETA: Gas grenades add 2 to the Availability of a Toxin, so Neuro-Stun VIII is the best we can do.

I'm perfectly fine with grabbing the neuro stun nades. I'm not going to make you do an IC post to order them though, I'll just have it deducted from your cash and delivered. Expect them the morning after you order.

Anyone want to go ahead and get us started on moving into the hospital, or are we still deciding the best approach/waiting for Herr?

Not to be a Debbie Downer but things aren't looking good for Herr. No posts for two weeks and hasn't been online in 11 days. For someone who was posting 4+ times a day prior to that, the absence is notable, and concerning.

I don't want to give up on Herr but we should figure out what we want to do in his absence. The GM can NPC him, or assign him to another player, or rule that Eddie loses his drek over the thought of making a run on a medical facility and sits at home rocking back and forth in the fetal position. The team can either decide to hire someone else (i.e. recruit, which will take a while) or we can go on our own - maybe borrowing Eddie's autopicker - and hoping for the best.

We probably should nudge Pixel again too. When I pinged her a couple weeks ago she gave every indication that she was about to come back. She might benefit from another reminder plus a deadline to help motivate her.

@CraterShip, cool as cool on the grenades.  Thanks.

Re: Herr and moving forward, I agree with Tec's sentiments.  This is probably an awkward time to recruit, as we're ready for the run itself, so GMPC or giving Eddie to one of us to run in the meantime is probably the best play.

Alright, well I think it's about time to call it, and keep us moving forward. Hopefully Herr will make it back sooner than later, but it's been weeks, and we've stalled since. So, in the interest of continuing, we can puppet Eddie along, having him tag along with the group decisions. Any volunteers to make his rolls along the way? Keep in mind, we may also need to roll for pixel if she doesn't have access to post as well.
Alternatively, I can jump into recruitment, as I'm sure there are plenty of people willing to play a Sam and not have to worry about the legwork that you've all already taken care of. Thoughts, opinions?

I don't mind rolling for Eddie, though really anyone available to do so should feel free.

I'm coming off of some crazy weeks that have really hampered my time for PbPing, so I'm itching to get back to it, but I know Tec's been pretty busy with irons in the fire as well, so whether to move forward now with paper-boarding Eddie and Pixel or recruiting is somewhat dependent on his availability.

I tried posting this yesterday but the site was down at the time.

It's been almost a month since Herr posted, so I think we have to consider him out of the game.

I would suggest that we reach out to Pixel again to see if she is gone for good. CraterShip, do you want to PM her? She responded right away the last time I pinged her, although it didn't generate any posts from her like I was hoping.

As for what we do next, it somewhat depends on Pixel's response. If Pixel comes back and can post regularly, I think we're okay puppeteering Eddie. However, if both Pixel and Eddie are out then I'd rather get some fresh blood in the game to give it a new spark. We could use someone to keep a fire lit under all of us.

So I've messaged both pixel and Herr, if nothing comes back in the next couple days I'll pretty much have to consider them gone. And at that point I'll see if I can drum up some new blood

I think this is a good approach.
