Covered in scars and tough as shoe leather. The imposing old man carries himself like he's ready for action at any notice.

"Beware the old man in a profession where men die young."

Casket cut his teeth escaping from the bugs in Chicago. He's fought on multiple continents in many battles. He's made his fortune and lost it.

Casket is a mercenary plain and simple. He's spent his time since he got out of Chicago fighting whatever fight paid the best. He's been through hell, He's been blown up, stabbed, and shot. He's lived the life and continues to fight the fight.

Casket has had to go back to Shadowrunning and burn most of his equipemnt and good ID's when a hacker setup his mercenary group as the fall guys for a small vilage massacre. The group had nothing to do with it but through Matrix magic the hacker was able to forge enough evidence to make it stick.

Casket's first mission was to hunt down the hacker and clear his name. Now that the particularly gruesome business is completed, Casket has to start all over again. His merc group is disbanded. He's living off a set of Bug Out equipment and a simple weapons setup.

Danielle ‘Spikes’ Goodman

Theory and practice, network protocols and storage techniques, these were spikes practices since she was a little girl at a small corporate arcology and the young girl was a prodigy. Skilled beyond her years and successful in everything that she did. The matrix spoke to her and taught her it’s secrets. Danielle saw patterns where none were apparent, she felt that security vulnerabilities were hinted for her by some hidden power. Indeed the young decker made quite a name for herself as a ruthless and efficient security spider, it was what she grew up to be.

This was no surprise as the Goodman’s were all promising deckers, the family was so immersed into the experience that family dinners were performed online in hot sim. None of them was a was very social person, but Danielle was, she was also a gifted athlete and talented climber. Things were looking pretty good for Danielle but at the age of 17 she was fired. The company was merged into Renerkru and 10% of the wage slaves were let go. Danielle was one of them, from a young prodigy she became an outsider.

Danielle tried to sustain herself with legitimate work but her expenses were big and without a deck of her own, Danielle’s options were limited. She supported herself as an electronics repair woman, few weeks ago, Danielle has made her first big gamble, she bought a deck of her own. The Deck was paid for by a terrible Mafia loan. Danielle is now a shadowrunner and she will do anything she needs to do to successfully pay off her deck, after all a deck to Danielle is just like an arm or a leg.

Glad to have you both aboard. I suggest reading through the IC log if nothing else to see where the game is currently. I'll write up a post introducing the two of you. For casket, you'll be replacing Eddie, I'll likely give Eddie a vague connection to his medical experimentation past that he has gone off to chase down. For Danielle, she'll be replacing pixel, likely explained as pixel having been a temporary contract, since she was brought in late to the run already. I leave it up to the group of you desire to have had past dealings with the newcomers, or knowledge of them through past exploits. I'm not big on in group distrust of backstabbing, as I feel it kinda wrecks the team ideal of the game. We're all working together to get a little richer after all.

Ravensoracle, two years ago you disappeared from the forums for three months without notice, disrupting two games in the process. While you were apologetic upon your return, you had not responded to PMs that were inquiring after your well-being. I won't judge the absence, but I would like to set the expectation - among all of us, myself included - that any departures or disruptions in posting be announced so that the rest of us aren't hanging in limbo in the meantime. I, for one, prefer to know that someone else hasn't been hit by a bus.

That said, welcome to the game. I'll be interested to see how Casket's prejudice against hackers interplays with Spikes' occupation. Casket's age versus Spikes' youth seems like another potential source of interesting friction.

gilga has opted for an Awakened decker. I'm going to say that Ichante and gilga know each other, as they are both young, female, and Awakened. It seems like that if Spikes is agoraphobic then perhaps she spends time in the Underground, where Ichante lives. Plus, they both like to spend money they don't have (their shared In Debt qualities), so they have that in common too. Ichante would not have any problem with a Spider totem.

Underground seems perfect, controlled environment, constant temprature less unexpected variables. I see spikes as liking to be in control, when there are too many people she gets edgy or in the open there are too many variables. Spikes loan is due to being fired from her cooperate job - and the expensive deck she used was never hers to begin with.  She tried to survive by fixing electronics, but she decided to make a calculate gamble and borrow money to buy a deck and return to her original profession as a decker (that should be more lucrative as well).  So she is not exactly the careless kind, she likes to feel in control and is a calculated person.

Ok finished reading the IC I see that basically you were doing legwork and then (due to ooc reasons I presume) the decker and bio infiltrator go sideways to do something personal and leaving you hanging.  If Spike wasn't just roughed up by gangers her proffessional pride will suffer knowing she only made backup Decker...  Yet she can blame it on her modest equipment.

Welcome back, gwilym. Your timing is good, as not much happened during September.

To gwilym's point, what would be an even bigger help is if Ravensoracle and gilga dropped the spoiler tags from their character sheets so that we can scroll through them without opening the spoiler tag. You can leave the spoiler tags on the pictures if you want, but the spoilers on the sheet details are a headache to navigate.

As for who goes in the door first, we'll likely need Casket to pick the lock. Since we don't have any drones (I don't think), perhaps it makes sense for a spirit to take point. One of Ichante's guardian spirits should be good at that.

Ichante's inclination will be to bring up the rear to provide counterspelling to the whole group, but if we really are advancing single-file then you could make an interesting case for Ichante to go first (to give her the best LOS possible) and for someone else to fire over her head.
