So we pop our door open. Ichante and Casket step out facing opposite guards. Casket uses his Silenced Remington 950 w/ Stick-n-Shock on the guard next to the vault door. Ichante Petrifies the guard next to the elevator. Pale Horse follows us out to take finish off whatever guard is still able to get off a comm signal. Chaim directs us all (Yeah Leadership bonus) and Spike is ready to intercept any signal the guards manage to send.

How does that sound for a plan. Should be done in 1 Initiative pass. Once the guards are down we threaten to feed them to the elf/ghoul if they don't cooperate.

I think that Spikes can reboot their comlinks to give us a complete combat round where they cannot call for help. I'll read again to find out how hard it is to intercept their signals, she could make noise with her deck it can be a neat solution (not even illegal)

What device ratings the guards comlinks are ?

Okay so I think the biggest contribution form Spikes is to jam the signals and loop the cameras to prevent these guys from calling to help and from preventing HQ from visually seeing that they have some kind of problem. (please try not to kill them... they are just doing their job).

her limit is 6, 7 with Chaim's guideness, so once you figure out the plan Spikes can solve the 'calling for help' problem for us.

Kind of a moot point now, as I like the direction that we're heading in plan-wise, but re: the stealth discussion I usually allow someone under the Concealment power who is also wearing a Chameleon Suit or Ruthenium-Polymer armor to make a Sneaking test in this sorts of circumstances.  My reasoning is that the armored suit by itself would stick out like the Predator in a hallway, but the Concealment power would further blur those edges.  Anyway, just my 0.02¥. 

As for breaching the doorway, we could try for Dynamic Entry, getting +3 dice to each attack.  Since Chaim can only apply Leadership to 1 char by RAW -- it has to be their next action, and having each char Hold their action is cheese that just doesn't sound fun or right -- that might be a good play.  If so, between Casket's SUT skill, Ichante's high INT and Chaim's Leadership we should be able to hit the 4 Threshold.  I'll leave the call to Raven, since he has to make the final roll, but I'll go ahead and drop a Leadership roll for maneuver.  Chaim has: CHA (6) + Leadership (6) + Direct Spec (2) + Tailored Pheromones (2) = 16 dice.

Well, that's not much help.

If I'm understanding Petrify right -- which book is that in? -- that stands a good chance of success, so I'll roll Leadership for Casket's use of the shotty.  Another 16 dice.

Limit is 8 with Tailored Pheromones, so Casket can keep all 7 dice with a +1 to Accuracy.

I'll go ahead and roll Initiative and a Surprise test with +3 for being aware.

Nope.  Once we breach, Chaim is going to hum to himself for an IP.  Hopefully, you guys won't need him.

Edit: one addendum to the plan would be to have Casket shoot the guy near the elevator -- closest to us -- and have Ichante use Petrify on the one by the hexagonal door.  1. no range penalties.  2. I bet the vault door is rather soundproof, but getting shot may make more noise than we'd like, and do so closer to the unknowns.

So Spikes cannot use her Deck this combat, this is why I roll meat space initiative aswell, Spikes first action will be to go back to AR so that she is not
murdered while she is away.

Initiative phase 1: Back to AR. - at Initiative 20 (matrix)
Initiative Phase 2:  At Initative 6: (Physical) TBD - if the combat gets loud enough so that her unsilenced automatic fire is acceptable, she will join, otherwise she will just wait in the room and defend herself if attacked.

PS. I assume that Spikes could loop the cameras and do the jamming before combat - since we initiate combat, there is no need to do the preparation actions very fast.

Petrify is from Shadow Spells and is pretty sweet:

PETRIFY
(PHYSICAL)
Type: P
Range: LOS
Duration: S
Drain: F – 2
This spell transforms living tissue into calcium carbonate,
or effectively, stone. The spellcaster must succeed in
a Spellcasting + Magic [Mental] Opposed Test against the
subject’s Body (+ Counterspelling). The spell’s Force must
also equal or exceed the subject’s body. The subject is not
conscious while under the spell’s effect, and any damage
suffered by the stone-like subject translates normally to
the appropriate Condition Monitor. While in this form, the
subject has a Barrier Armor Rating (p. 197, SR5) equal to
their Body + the caster’s net hits when they cast the spell.
Non-living material is not affected by the spell, including
clothing, cyberware, and carried gear.


Short version: it's Magic + Spellcasting vs. the target's Body, where Force needs to equal or exceed the target's Body. For humans, Force 6 should be sufficient 99% of the time.

Ichante's spellcasting: Magic 6 + Spellcasting 6 [Force 6]: 12d6t5 6 hits, nice
Soaking 4S drain: Willpower 7 + Intuition 4 (8): 15d6t5 5 hits

That went as well as it could have.

I went ahead and posted under the assumption that the guards don't have Doc Wagon bands or bio-monitors just to keep things moving forward.  If they do, I'll need to edit my post. 

I'm going to roll AGI + Perception for searching Guard 1.  Chaim has: AGI (5) + Perception (5) + Specifically Looking (3) = 13 dice.
Rolling Guard 1: 13d6t5 4

If we go with the disguise option, Chaim will use Leadership on Ichante for Physical Mask.  16 dice.
Leadership: Ichante, Physical Mask: 16d6t5 5
An average roll here is still pretty good.

@Cratership, out of curiosity, would the guards have acted normally had Ichante and/or Casket not put them down, or were you going to have them roll Surprise?
