Why is there so little information on Israel? I have a character that is a Russan Jew Ex- Mossad and want to give a little more background to the character. But I am having a difficult time finding anything on the country. Any ideas?

Shadows of Asia has a good section on Israel(4,5 pages)
The most important think to remember when running in Israel is "Don't get caught by the Mossad" it's the first and tenth commandment of running in Israel  8)
"An it harm none, do what you will"

There's also a short write up on Mossad in State of the art: 2064 pages 19-20.

Thank you! I'll have to look into those sources. Hopefully there will be more written up on Israel in the future.

I think he's also referring to the lack of info in 6WA.  Was there some editorial decision that they couldn't have at least collected what's been done and put in a one page blurb in the Almanac?  Just seems a bit odd.

Well yeah there is that too. There was just that one small blip in the timeline. But when you look on the map you can see that the country of Palestine is there. I mean there should have been a war or armed conflict or something?

Hmmm... Maybe an Unsolved Mysteries of the Sixth World in the future. *Rubs chin thoughtfully*

SR history is that Israel and the Palestinians got their act together and created two states on amicable terms. Since Israel had given them what they wanted, while the rest of Arabia let them rot and now wanted to take their independence away again, most Palestinians even fought on Israel's side against the Great Jihad. Yep, a cyberpunk universe paints a positive vision of the future ;)

Somewhere around that time, but seperate from teh Jihad, also was the "Ten Minute War". Libya launched a massive chemical attack against Israel, Israel fired back with nukes. Israel now has a few contaminated zones but otherwise obviously is still around, Libya is a radioactive wasteland.

Most of that can be found in Shadows of Asia, IIRC there's also a bit about the Ten Minute War in Target:Wastelands.

Really, I found the Middle East section of SoA to be... lacking. The Israeli-Palestine compromise is all kinds of silly, and the miltary standdown between Israel and Syria/Jordan is a cheap rehash of 20th century events - but then SoA just loves that, like also in the Russian entry.

Israel in the Sixth World is a really fascinating subject for me and my current Emergence storyliine that I am putting my group through. Once I am done compiling all my fan-based information on whats been going on in detail in Israel, i'll post it here for your viewing pleasure.

The Mossad paid CGL a visit. They had some persuasive arguments.

It's a hard section of the world to write about without ruffling feathers. Tensions run very high when talking about Israel and Palestine and you can't make it appear as if you are picking sides in an age old conflict when writing about your game about dragons and robot men.
The two-state solution to fight off the Caliphate may not seem like the most rational resolution to that part of the world, but it side steps a lot of angry hate mail from anyone who felt their country was left off a map.
O, proud Death, What feast is toward thine eternal cell, That thou so many princes at a shot So bloodily hast struck?
Fortinbras- Hamlet. Act V, Sceen II
