Hoi Cummers, wondering if anyone can tell me if they will be reprinting the core rulebook? I really would like to get a hard copy but they seem hard to find or are very over priced. Thanks.

Dunno... but my dealer has 3 on his shelf as of Sunday with a sticker price of $70cdn.

Not too bad since the book's price on mine is $59.99 US.

Worse comes to worse, my store ships (but you pay for it)

How about a digital copy + a visit to a copy shop to print your own and have it bound?

Also: WTF? 60$
The German copy costs 20€ (10€ for the small soft cover)

I second this. You can also find book binding kits online if you feel up to doing it yourself. Awesome way to get a custom, one-of-a-kind rulebook.

Welcome to North America.

Don't forget to pay your 14% tax on top of that $59.99. (At least in my province)

What they want, and what they get are 2 different stories :D

One can always find idiots on the internet that want stupid silly prices for silly things. It does not mean they ever get that price.

Now that's just cruel... I'd really like to know how they manage those prices...

As for the OP, look to eBay...

...For real?  Just about every gaming book costs like 60 bucks on the east coast of the US at least.  Hardcover, I don't think I've seen a softcover.  It's how much I used to have to pay for core D&D books.  It's why I buy them online now when I can...  Tends to be cheaper, but still a bit more expensive than the German copy, apparently.
I'm Madpath Moth on reddit (and other sites).  Feel free to PM me errata questions!
Jeeze.  It would almost sound stupid until you realize we're talking about an immortal elf clown sword fighting a dragon ghost in a mall.

@Thanael

Pegasus has a flat price policy: Every new book costs 20€. There are collections for the smaller, online only publications (Schattenhandbuch 1 und 2).
I'd imagine having a long term deal with a printer and a reliable German fan base (SR has always been one of the more popular systems around here) help them out quite a bit. (Not to mention that they also sell German Translations of Cthulhu, Lord of the Rings, Midgard as well as Munchkin and all Wizard of the Coast things (Magic, D&D)

Quite a lot of action for a relatively small Publisher (Last I read they had 20 full time employees and around 100 free lancers).
All in all just a typical German "mittelständischer Betrieb", with the founders and owners being fans of what they are doing.

Then consider yourself VERY lucky Jack.

Most game books, no matter the system, have a price range of $40 to $75 for a hardcover. And $25 to $40 for a softcover.

Heck, trade paperback novels start around $9 to $15, depending on subject and size....

Part of that is the Pulp and Lumber Resource Tax that came in back in the mid 1990's... As for the rest of it, no idea.

Exchange rates. Here in Australia, books like Street Grimoire & Run Faster sell in FLGSs for AUD$80 and up. SR5 Corebook will be about AUD$105.

Even with shipping costs, often it's cheaper to order books over the 'Net than buy locally - assuming they EVER arrive locally. My experiences with Battleshop have been positive in that regard.

Fun story: back when the latest Doctor Who RPG first appeared on the market, I ordered it from Amazon UK. That was a boxed set. When it arrived, there was a packing note/bill included which showed the cost - AUD$55 including shipping. When it finally appeared on the shelves in my FLGS, the price was AUD$90.

And people wonder why I order over the 'Net . . .
