Yeah, apologies for being quiet. I don't feel like Kite would have a lot of input at this phase of the planning. That being said, she's available if needed but otherwise she really needs to pick up some ranks in Pilot: watercraft

I'd argue that everyone should weigh in on that kind of planing. After all this is nearly 3/4 of what a successful run consists of 

For example you should be excited at the possibility to act as the get away driver for Krestov on his little outing. Anna likewise will need a lift and scouting out Crow on the Island should be also high on your agenda.

This is a heist with lots of preparation and I want to include everyone in it (lack of player engagement invariably leads to drop outs). Getting back in the story only gets harder the longer you don't participate.

@Boom Anna suggested her astral overwatch saying that it should only be a few minutes, she can astrally project to the scene and warn you about people making sure that rooms are empty and so forth, and if you need magic her spirit can use a wide array of powers like concealment...

bnc only needs a short span of time to recover from the frist frustrarting attempt. I guess, quarter an hour should do. GM call. Anyway, the exact span doesn't matter.

The point I'm trying to make is: I already (succesfully) rolled the test. So we do have the position. If it's not too confusing for you, there's no reason not to roleplay the two situations simultaneously. Anna and bnc are the only ones involved in both parts. So I think it's safe to fast-forward to the Whitman encounter.

Whitman is in fact to be found at a gym in downtown, near his home. His car is likewise there in the parking lot.

I did all the rolls in the same post. First with all dice, then at -2, then at -4, then the re-roll without penalty a time later.

Not five minutes later Krestov got the message from Sanchez: <<Seems to be our lucky day. Sorry I haven't been posting while Slob was doing an important part of the mission. He's a bit out of fhis depth, so I feel a need to be creative with how he tries to tackle this problem, and I've been distracted by work and now by a nightmare election result.

Hi Jack having Anna grappled is okay with me, but as she is non combatant (and unarmed as I cannot imagine her bringing a gun to that date) and do not even want to harm Charles - Anna is very much likely to use full defense (she'll just want to GTFO as Charles clearly is mad enough to call the police or something).

In case you allow her to full defense:
full defense dice: 5d6t5 2

In case you do not allow her to full defense but allow edge use:
edge reroll faliures: 6d6t5 3

In case you allow any of these Anna will not attack Charles, but instead run away as fast as she can, trying to get away with the apartment, possibly knocking off some expensive statue to slow Charles down. I imagine her to be completely terrified by his sudden violent side as she did not anticipate it going to blows.

I am waiting for your input to whether or not Anna can avoid being grappled, if she is grappled I am asking can she attempt a social roll, e.g. trying to kiss Charles and say something like "Take me like a man" or something like that.

(or try to intimidate him by losing his job, or being sued for assault/rape whatever.)

In case she cannot do social rolls well, let me sleep about it, I guess she can expose herself being a mage or hope that he is not going to punch her senseless. As a STR 1 vs STR 4 she is so physically inferior that she is never getting out of that grapple without either magic, or passing out.  (I am not even sure that the stun bolt spell is such a catch in that case).


At least these are my current thoughts about the situation.

I can tell you now that Charles is an absolute and utter psychopath
Full defense is not something I'd allow in a surprise attack, but Edge use certainly is.

So you can escape and run towards the elevator (or out of sight and use invisibility because the elevator needs an authorization by Charles (or a certain hacker)
This will turn into a hide an seek game until bnc can free you (or allow one of the guys access to bring you out)

In case I haven't mentioned it: Teamwork makes the dream work and back up muscle is never wrong

Does Charles have a balcony?

Anna can use levitate to escape through a balcony and she is not in such a bad shape because she has services left on her spirit. The challenge for her is not to harm Charles because doing so may have other kinds of complications considering how rich he is.
