Hi, I have a question for a character concept. What would happen if you get a Program Carrier and put Smoke and Mirrors on it (or Virtual Machine with Smoke and Mirrors)? Would you be able to get a Sleaze Rating on it thanks to S&M?

In particular I want that on a RCC to give access to some more Matrix Action to my Rigger and notably the possibility on putting Marks on other Drones/Vehicles to Jump In.

If it doesn't work what would be the solutions to get Sleaze on a RCC? There is the device modification "Add a Matrix Attribute" which give 1 and can be followed by "Increase a Matrix Attribute" to get a second point but that's really low and your device loses two box of Matrix Condition Monitor.

Any suggestion is welcome, else I guess I will have to fall back on a Cyberdeck and lose the advantages of the RCC.

No, one of the writers clarified that you need a sleaze rating to begin with to use S&M.

If your GM allows it you can use a Stealth Dongle to get your RCC up to speed (that would also allow the use of S&M) - no need for a permanent modification.

Another solution would be if your GM allows you to use Spoof actions to invite MARKs for your other devices.

Sadly, Riggers didn't get much love in that regard.

Ok too bad but I can understand. I wish Add (or Increase a) Matrix Attribute modification wasn't so worthless and that you could combine it with Add Module to get S&M..

Guess I will build my Rigger with a Cyberdeck then or use both (Maersk Spider + Little Hornet should be cheap enough with Resources A). I can still jump into a Drone slaved to the RCC if my persona is linked to a Cyberdeck right?

Add a Matrix Attribute lets you add up to 2 Sleaze, Smoke and Mirrors and Stealth would bounce your RCCs Sleaze up to 8.  Pretty respectable IMO.

The main advantage of the RCC is the Autosoft sharing.  If you don't need that then using a low end Cyberdeck works.  Just watch the Rating because Cyberdecks have relatively small number of Devices that can be slaved to them.

RCCs can run cyberprogramms, so you can get S&M on it without a mod.

One way to do that without having to reboot your devices to switch from cyberdeck to RCC would be a high rated Agent: Give it control of the cyberdeck and instruct it to find and spoof your desired targets

This has the added bonus that you don't need to invest into hacking skills.
