Don't worry, I can stunbolt any one person who makes a grab at you without accidentally shooting you, Sammy texted to Snow, while she kept an eye out on the guys near the truck but also glanced at the jungle from time to time, in order not to be surprised from that side.  She also checked out the leader and the rest of guys she could see in the astral.  While Snow was busy, she could try to gather as much intel as possible on their possible adversaries.


I'll do a full assensing on the leader, and I'll glance at the rest for obvious cyberware (I'll do 2 rolls, one for the leader, one for all the rest).  For the leader I try to get a feeling for his mental state (emotions can also be read on the astral if I recall correctly (AFB at the moment).

Snow slips into AR so she can get a better look at the icons near her, focusing on the leader.  She uses Matrix Perception to try to get the ID code of the man, just in case she needs to use it to spoof his gun.

The leader simply continues to encourage you to come to him.  Occasionally adding, "Come, come." in his pidgin French.

None of the others besides yourselves are registering any kind of PAN.

Snow gives the man a small shake of the head and takes two steps back to get closer to the corner of the truck, ready to dive for cover if necessary.

This standoff was starting to drag on, and it was pissing O'Connor off. These thugs weren't going to attack until they had Snow as a hostage, so why wait for that to happen? If Clem didn't attack soon, he was.

O’Conner hears the distinct sound of carried weaponry, softly, off to his right, deep in the brush at the same moment that Starlet sees the men moving through the brush to the left side of the road.  Clearly the pirates are using the negotiations and conversation to try and flank the group to either side.

(OOC: pretty much everyone is holding an action to react at this point, so the successful perception checks will let give O’Conner and Starlet first right to act against anyone on the path or the attackers they each noticed before all hell breaks loose.)

At Con's warning, Snow steps lightly to the side, gaining the cover of the truck as she draws her Predator and looks around for a target.

With so many people looking at the main group, Sammy decided to take out the flanking group.  She ducked behind the truck and fireballed the group sneaking up on her side.  That way she also showed the rest of the group where they were without having to say something.

Clem fired as soon as she heard the first gunshot. In those situations, it was always better to be on the upper hand and then ask questions than the opposite.

Held Action - Agility 8 + Firearms Group 4 + Take Aim 2 - Firing from cover 2: 12d6t5 5 no glitches. I decided to skip the recoil and recoil modifiers since they cancelled each other out. Narrow spread, so +5 AP but also +2 damage. With the bullets and all, the damage would come to 11P + net hits.
