@Sovereign: Nice work, but from now on: Stop burning infrastructure - that shit belongs to us now. There is a whole sublevel full of pixies for you to play with - and likely some med bay where you can regain your strength - I assume you feel a bit tapped out after that display. Jeez, I think I'll have to encourage Nagisa here to convert the camera footage into a screensaver for me.>>

As Wheely brought the van towards the main entrance, Maxwell looked out the window and at the devastation he had wrought.  The greenhouses were green no more.  They writhed like giant bonfires, blazing in the night.  Threatening to spread to the others if they continued to burn like that.  Not that he gave a flying hoop if they did or didn't.  He despised greenery.  No matter what form it took.  Preferring deserts, tundras or urban wastelands when it came to scenery.  As much as he hated sprawl life - Maxwell couldn't see himself ever living in a forested or jungle environment.  Nor a farmland.  If such things even still exist in this day and age.  His focus shifted to the soldiers that lay dead on the ground.  Their bodies twisted and warped by the flames.  Flesh, bone and pieces of their equipment melted into the pavement.  A rather macabre scene to behold.  To him, it was only funny.

Looking at his comm now instead, Maxwell relays his personal position.  <<I could use some medical attention myself.  That attack took a lot out of me.  Frankly speaking, I don't think I can cast another spell without keeling over.  Bandages and med-gel aren't going to cut it for this kind of injury.  I'll need iron pills or a plasma infusion coupled with some protein supplements.  Enriched herbal tea works too, but I doubt we'll find that here.  Fortunately, I summoned another spirit who still owes me two services.  Say the word and i'll him have clobber whomever is going to give us a hard time at this point.>>

@Kynos - <<Buzz off.  The spirit I summoned, right before it got taken out by the on-call mage, should have handled the guards and drones.  That damned magician had to complicate things by disrupting him and sending his fire elemental to slow us down.  Going full-blown nova and nuking their asses was my Plan B.  If I didn't then Simone and Irris would been Swiss cheese otherwise.  Still, thanks though.  Glad I could muster such a feat.  Before I head downstairs and claim my prize i'll need to rest up a bit.  Maybe Simone can help.  Maybe there's a med bay here like you said I could use if she can't.  And uhhhh... who's Nagisa?>>

Kynos gave Nagisa another few instructions to spread the drones out again and have them stay out of sight across the perimeter. Also he had her sent out a message to the remaining guards that they were suspended until further notice. He wasn't sure if they would accept that, but then he didn't really care. If they wanted to get in, they would be in the way of the vampire attack, slowing the suckers down for a moment perhaps.
he also asked Nagisa to send all remaining janitorial drones upstairs to clean up the mess in the entrance hall and keep an eye open for vampire intruders.

Simone puts one of Irris' arms around her shoulder and the two are walking to the Control Building when the call comes in from Sovereign.  Her pulse quickens a bit but she controls her voice to answer. >>Team [Simone]:  Irris and I are almost at the Control Building and I can see what I can do for everyone then.  Scary mage, I have some skill that goes beyond just first aid that might be of use to you.  Just try not to cast any more of those Armageddon spells for a bit.  I may have to come back out here, though.  I know Nyx left with us, but I have not seen her since the battle started and things got a bit confused out here.<<

Perking up a bit from the visual of the cute decker.  Her dress fitting elegantly to the contours of her petite body.  Young looking too.  Couldn't be more than eighteen at most by his guess.  The only downside of the girl was this look of pure abject terror she had going on.  Not surprising considering she is being held hostage in a terrorist takeover.  A hand reaches for his chest as Maxwell hacks and coughs again.  After the fit was over, he replies with.  <<@Kynos - That implies there will be any management left or that they'd even be interested in the first place.  But, yeah, no roughing up the defenseless tech support.  I'm dying to know where they got the money to have elite corp-sec on payroll.  Drek like that is expected at top secret mega sites or in the upper-crust of downtown.  Not in this sodding little backwater.>>

There is still the very likely possibility that before the night is out a bunch of hungry undead and their personal army will descend on this place. And no matter what you think of us, you'll want to be behind us when they show up. It's therefore in your best interest to support us until the lawyers show up and sort his out.

...really I'm fine,  I'm saying as Nicole and I enter the bunker.  It just knocked the wind out of me.  It might bruise at worst.  You should go check on the others, sounds like they got it way worse.  I look around immediately thinking towards tactical fortifications and positioning for our people.

Gonna have to check this whole place out...what a mess.

While waiting for the answer, she hears the others arrive and turns to see Sovereign walk in.  His face is drawn a bit in pain, but he seems to be doing the macho guy thing and pretending it doesn't hurt....much.  She shakes her head, and starts to go to him, but remembers that he has said that normal first aid is not going to help.  She nods. "Hey, scary mage, thanks for sending the fire after those guys.  It sure made a difference.  How bad are you hurt?"

Wheely give back her keys to Simone "I'll hide my car, it will likely be harder for your van so just park it between two greenhouses once you've picked up what you need in it, maybe add a tarp on it, it could pass for a big tractor.". After saying that Wheely look for a good place to park the car and activate the Chameleon Coating for extra. If he has time he will also try to recover his Doberman remains

Step by step, he hobbles at a slow walking pace to the entrance with the others.  Wincing from spell fatigue as he does.  The pain made it difficult to concentrate.  Even his senses watered and blurred images and sounds out of focus if he didn't try hard enough.  So much so that he didn't notice Simone's question.  Not at first anyway.  Once he had time to collect his thoughts, Maxwell shook his head.  Trying to manage a faux smile to belie his condition to not be as bad as it is.  "I've had worse.  Just need something to help replace the blood I lost and some sleep and i'll back in shape.  Maybe something with protein to eat and some soykaf but i'll make do if not.  Oh yeah, the fireball was nothing.  I cast spells like that for fun.  No need to thank me for it."

"As I tried to explain: We didn't do anything to the matrix - but we were at the security firm that manages the drones around here and they were hit by vampires - that's how we know about the imminent attack.
We assume it's the AI Red that now works with the blood suckers. It's the same one that tried to enslave the city a while ago until the EMP took care of that.

And sure, you can go. My contacts to the Yaks are on the level at the moment, now that the shit stain vampire collaborator ork is gone."

He turned to the guard:

Nagisa said "Well... that is strange. It seems like you have some gurdian angel - drones that malfunction just as they are about to fire specifically at you, cameras that suddenly look the other way not to record you and an entire host crushed to pieces. Seriously, I managed to esablish some sort of control on the drones with direct device to device transmission - which works sortof, but it feels like that we are not completely in control even when we remote control them. The riggers not showing up may explain what you said.

Kynos nodded at Nagisa: "Be careful then. Seems like the AI wanted us to do the hard part of the operation and see us knock each other out - pretty exactly what I'd have wanted. Hopefully our first mover advantage will be worth the gamble."
