This is what the post today in the site says: The new fourth printing of SR5 should be hitting stores now, and it’s about to be a free upgrade for PDF purchasers. What do you get in your upgrade? How about a comprehensive index of all the core books? Run & Gun, Run Faster, Street Grimoire, and so on. It’s in there!

I don't know about any other changes, but one thing I was hoping for was that they would fix the bookmarks in the Gamemaster Advice section of the pdf.  I use that section a lot and finding stuff is a real pain.  It was correct in the very first pdf and got screwed up since they moved the "All the Angles" fiction after the first pdf printing.

Unfortunately, the bookmarks were not fixed in the copy I just downloaded from Drive-thru RPG and every bookmark in the section is still 5 pages off.

But I don't have that fancy new index either, so maybe my Drive-Thru library still has the old files. Somebody please tell me they have a good copy where some stuff got fixed... I would really like to feel good about this new printing.

Similar issue 2 "updated" copies of the core book in my drive thru rpg library and I can't tell if one's newer than the other but I can't see an index of other books.

You CAN see a master index?  Sweet, what page?  Does it just replace the old index?

Sorry to get your hopes up that should have read can't I was thrown off by the index containing a reference "street grimoire, 68" that I noticed on skimming it.

We got an update!  ... (But not really.)

I just checked by Drive thru RPG library and I was excited to see that there was a change in my library on October 3rd.  Odd that I did not get an email about it though...   Also, now there is only one file, not two listed for the core rulebook and when I downloaded it, the filename comes up as "Shadowrun_Fifth_Edition_Core_Rulebook_(Master_Index_Edition)_(serial#).pdf"   ....         Getting very excited!!

Unfortunately, when I open it, the actual file is (at first glance) exactly the same as the one I already have.  NO master index that I can find, exact same page count as the previous version and my beloved bookmarks are still jacked up in the Gamemaster Advice Section.

Boo.

The index at the back (page 468-489) is significantly expanded and includes references to other books, including Chrome Flesh, Data Trails, Rigger 5.0, Run Faster, Run & Gun, and Street Grimoire.

Your overall page count for the document should be larger than it used to be.

My old pdf had a file size of 45,527kb. The new pdf has a file size of 45,752kb. It has the updated index.

Character Archetypes are still incorrect. The new index is helpful though.

Looks like the third time is a charm.  The file in my DriveThruRPG library was updated again (dated Oct 5th at 16:50) and this time it has the updated index.   Also, page 7 now says "Fourth Printing" which is excellent since I never saw any pdf that said anything but "First Printing" even when stuff got changed.

I do wonder how much (if anything) in the text itself got changed or fixed since the bookmarks in the GM section are still wrong and there are still other very old errors that persist.  Regardless, I appreciate the master index and the efforts to improve the product.

Finally got it two days ago. Master Index is sweet! Still has a lot of typos and errata though was hoping some of that would get ironed out. My favorite: Matrix Perception, pg. 235 - "The target's commode."

Wheee! Makes me want to never play a decker anywhere near a restroom!
