As they wait for Sophie to return, the runners realizes they are not the only ones paying attention to the closed bar. They already had noticed the military, and armored, vehicle, across the street. While it looks only parked there, the BMW Minotaur (an enhanced, S-K version of Dodge Goliath), the runners now definitely get the sense that the soldier, who pop up on top of it, is trying (and failing) to discreetly monitor whatever their up too. However, police being military around these parts, it's not a stretch to think that they would keep tabs on a known "mafia haunts".
That being said, this is not what has tipped off Rex's canine perception. While, in his dog forms, Rex could not really pin point this out, he had the strange impression that someone or something else, is also observing the closed bar. Waywalker using his drone to scout the area quickly spots the root cause: a Horizon Flying Eye drone is hovering above a house across the street - with his sensor array pointing toward the bar. Because Waywalker can't immediately located the associated icon in AR, he already knows for sure the damn thing is running silent...
On top of everything, Rex got a message from one of his contact, a fixer named Dough Dougan:
>>> Moin moin, Rex. I know it's early, but can you give me a call ? I may have some very interesting offer for you, that make today a big day. I've gathered you might already be on a job, but please don't wait for this job to be finished. Looking forward to hear from you.
Before either Rex or Waywalker can reacts to any of this, an exhausted Valentin Prago appears down the stairs and addresses them:
"Dunno who the frag you are, but better have the best reason in the world for having me wake up... Or I swear on my mum's grave, bad stuff is going to happen to you..."
Mid forties, black hair - dyed to hide the fact they are turning grey, a broken nose and some black glasses - to hide how tired he his, Valentin Prago is not awesome but certainly does have a certain presence. It's easy to spot that he has been around for a while. Whether "around" is the Shadows or the Underworld, he certainly looks like both a though guy and apt fighter.
He is wearing a worn off black suits - not tie, coming out of an old collection of Mortimer of London, which is barely concealing a holster holding most likely a heavy pistol. He now glares at Waywalker - and his dog, with a mean stance, both ready to negotiate a deal or shoot him dead on the spot...
