Now that the forums here work again, let me post this here as well.

Inspired by the Chummer to Roll20 Export that got released a few days ago, I figured this functionality can be hijacked to do the same for Hero Lab.

So, I build a Custom Output Sheet for Hero Lab that creates a JSON object compatible with the one Chummer creates, and can therefor use the Import function on the Roll20 Character Sheet.

It's not entirely finished yet. Quite a few things are unfortunately not provided by HeroLab to be exported. I'm currently trying to get into contact with someone there to see if they're willing to fix that soon.
Those impossible items include such unimportant things as vehicles, drones, geneware, technomancer complex forms and martial arts (and some more).

Almost everything that HL provides and that can be imported into the Roll20 sheet is now being exported. Just a few minor things (like Matrix Programs) aren't yet. There might also be a bug here and there.

I'll be updating the file whenever a new version is ready, and hope to release a final version this week too.

But I can't test it all by myself, so I'd be grateful for anyone who'd help me test this with actual characters and give me some feedback.

Here's what you gotta do:

  • download the file "HLtoRoll20Export.hl" from this link
  • double click it. Hero Lab will import it automatically now.
  • Load a character
  • Go to File/Save Custom Output and select the "Roll20 Export"
  • Save the file. It should open automatically in your browser
  • Everything else is explained there

Post any feedback or bugreports below or send them to me via PM. Please provide the error you get and if possible a link to the Hero Lab .por file.

version 0.4.0 just been uploaded. The last two items on my To-Do list are done. Now only a few bugs need to be handled.

Just downloaded this, it's awesome.  Found an issue with Orthoskin:
Orthoskin does not add to armor.  In fact, toggling Orthoskin as "Worn" blanks the armor box completely.

Uploaded a new version (link in the first post) that should fix that issue. Could you check it and let me know if it's working now?

Sorry for the delay on response, the forums have been acting  flaky for me.  I downloaded the newest version and tested, and can confirm the Orthoskin issue is resolved.  Will advise if I find any other unexpected behavior.  Thanks for the great plugin!!
