Been planning about maybe, just maybe, making an aspected mage - the Anti-mage doesn't quite work with so many inconsistencies in FA yet.
Now, I wonder what to pick for life modules.
Postgraduate Studies is a great one, but besides - Is it allowed to pick a module that includes parts I can't use, like, say, a magical skillgroup I wouldn't have access to?
Or is there a positive catch to the "Aspected Magician" subsection of the "Street Magic" Lifemodule?
It seems... underwhelming to say the least. And weaker than all the other options that sadly all include conjuring.
Still waiting on a Vector-Thrust Liminal Body.

You can pick life modules that have skills you can't use, but they would become knowledge skills.
The Aspected Magician life module, it's hard to justify compared to other magical life modules.
The only benefit is some knowledge skills you should have anyway.

Honestly, it's hard to justify the 15 karma for aspected when a full mage is only 30.

I wouldn't go the Life Modules route for an Aspected Mage.

They just aren't set up for it.

Better to stick w/ the other chargen methods

If your GM allow Forbidden Arcana,
pick Dedicated Spellcaster for 5 Karma
Aspected Mage for 15
Pick modules to get you to Spellcasting 7
You don't have to pay any karma for your first 7 spells.

A person wanting to be a full mage would normally have to spend 70(30+35) karma to get the same 7 spells you got for 20. Of course those extra 50 points gives him astral projection and acess to the other two magic skill groups. Everything has a cost, omae.

If your GM doesn't use FA- don't pick an aspected sorcerer. IMHO, they're thrown in the same cell as the Technomancer and Bubba the Love Troll (but at least the mage sneaked in some petroleum jelly).

Of course you didn't sage aspected sorcerer per se. I find nothing wrong with aspected conjurers.

Aspected conjurers are fine, just not in life modules.  In life modules, you can take magical education, state university (magic), postgraduate studies, and finally wage mage.  This gives you 7's for all of the sorcery group skills, at least.  But conjurers have far fewer viable options (in life modules).  On the other hand, conjurers are easier to do in priority/sum-to-ten.

Well, Wage Mage + Street Shaman gives you 5 on conjuring, so it's not bad, either.Magical Education and Tour of Duty are also equal. Less options, same result.
Still not any good, though.
