Hey guys, first time poster.

On page 58(Girls with Guns), there is this dude surfing a drone walker that has a platform-esque top.  Any idea what drone that is, or if it isn't specific, what drone might best replicate it?

Thanks! =D

I don't think it's meant to represent anything specifically.

But it appears to be a walker motive type, so I'd suggest the walker chassis of the ubiquitous MCT Seven drone from Rigger 5.0.

That was my first instinct when browsing Chummer, but they're just so limited in what you can do to modify them. :(

Well you can probably ride on top of it while it carries you around :D

This is true!

I had this idea of creating a tiny shell on top of the platform for my character to hide in(a Rigger Cocoon basically), so I can have this tiny mini walking tank thing that I can rig into while not getting shot to pieces.

Trying to do this as a Technomancer even, which I am learning is a nightmare and a half because of how crappy they are.

Well if that's what you want, there's a drone that's pretty much meant to do exactly that: The Transys Steed.  Of course it's basically a Professor X chair.. it's wheeled as opposed to walker.  But you can always mod that.

The Ares-Segway Terrier is a vehicle that does the same thing, and being a vehicle is much more moddable than a drone is.  Easier to turn that into a walker.

Oh, I'll take a look at those!

Is there a way to swap out one movement system for another on a vehicle?  All I can find is the Secondary Propulsion.

No way I'm aware of other than delving into house rules.

I mean, do you see any mechanics problems that could be caused by grabbing the stats from one vehicle and just saying "This is now a Walker of appropriate size"?

Well walkers aren't particularly fast.. so if you simultaneously nerf the speed to be comparable to other walkers it's size I wouldn't have an issue with calling it your own made up model of drone.  But again it's gonna vary by GM.

Cool, I'll run it by my GM.  We're all fairly new to the system, so I don't know all the little things that can kind of leap out and break the game by accident.  So far, research has shown that SR5 is a little... finicky.
