Looking over the rules for creating art in no future, page 59, I find it will hard for characters to make some great stuff if this a single test, with threshold of 6 successes, or 4 with composing specialized.

So is it 1 roll, as RAW as it appears to be or extended test and the author forgot to mention it??

A threshold of 6 is appropriate to a "Very Hard" task, per pg 45 of the core rulebook.

By comparison, a threshold of 6 for an extended task is "Easy", per pg 48.

It's pretty obvious to me that making a notable work of ark is "Very Hard" rather than "Easy".  Besides, if it were an extended test, there'd be an interval annotated as per pg 48.
