CRB.456 says "Armor enhancements provide an Armor bonus equal to their rating, cumulative with other armor, without adding to Encumbrance."

If a person takes the "Armor" enhancement for their cyberlimb, they gain 1 soak die.

If they take "Armor 2" on the opposite limb, does that now equal 3 armor?

May seem like a simple question, but whats to stop someone with 4 cyberlimbs to take 12 points of armor? (4 * 3)

Yes to all.

They would take 2 hands and 2 feet implants, boost with armor to “quickly” gain 12 armor

Note that the Availability for cyberlimb armor is Rating * 5. If you're playing with the standard Availability 12 chargen limit then the max armor per limb is 2. You can get around that by getting Used cyberlimbs to lower the limb's Availability to the point where you can get Rating 3 Armor, but there's a significant Essence hit that comes along with that.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm looking at an advanced character with Cyber torso, skull, legs and arms at superior grades, each with Armor +3. Just wanted to make sure that its compound gain was true.

Yeah, add in worn armor and it gets absurd where a dude soaks more than a 5 ton armored vehicle.

I’m not opposed. Just a quirk of the setting due to the rules.  Or for those who don’t like it a case where the rules do a bad job representing the setting.  One of my players, that’s his favorite type of character. I just think it’s a quirky bit of absurdity.

For sillyness, use a troll with 1 agi and 5 str, max body. Then max the cyberlimbs to 13 str and 8 agi, with 3 armor... it gets silly fast. and pricey, but still.... and you still get your troll armor lol
