Oh, right.  Thanks for the reminder. :-[

Hmm...to put some hard numbers out there, the ticket price for the Seattle-Honolulu suborbital is Ą2200.  From there, another Ą2000 to get to the island.  Legitimately, of course.  The smugglers might crank up the price if they think they're your only option; ain't capitalism grand? ;D

Additional problem with being journalists is that we're not journalists, according to our sins.
Gaunt's contact was Horizon, no? They're pretty big in media I understand... might help.
Or we come up with another cover better matching our current SINs.
Silk's either a dancer or a lawyer... her lawyer ID could get hired for a lot of things I suppose.

Sichr, I thought the plan was to split up in two groups? You and gaunt going to a nearby island and checking out exit possibilities and a way to get the bus in while the island group searches for info there.

Oh man I'm so stressed out.  I've got finals in two weeks and I've got a murderous marathon I'm totally not ready for on Sunday.  Time for some escapism.

Is there anything I can do to help you guys along?  I'd hate to see this die before it gets started.

Don't want it to die either... we can pull this one off without the guys we lost?
Just seems we're really stuck on ideas on how to deal with the transportation; guess that's our fault, but the ideas I had got thrown in the trash bin. (Travel-agency bus doesn't work since they don't use those, disguising it as one of their own: just don't see that working unless theirs are identical to ours.)
So I'm pretty much stuck there, and I'm guessing so is the rest...

IC it wouldn't be too much of a problem for Silk, she's selfish and it's not her problem.
But metagame I really don't want to have a player lose 3/4th of his charsheet before the mission even starts.

If it helps, can this you at the island, perhaps literally, to move things along.

But when I  get back home.  I'm in so much pain.  I rode 100 miles in 8 hours, over two mountains.   :P
But what's worse, I met a cute girl and didn't get her name.   :'(
The booth babes were pretty cool, though. ;D

Well...we thought and thought and thought again how to get that bus to the island. For me this is over. If Gaunt finds a way, I would applaud him, but it is his problem and I didnt heard any solution from him yet. He waits until we solve this for him?
We need to move on...with or without the bus.

I'm not sure if we're having miscommunications or what, but even after re-reading anything posted in the past six weeks I'm missing where the ideas to get the bus to the island are dead-ending. I haven't seen Rockopolis telling us an idea won't work.

It seems pretty straightforward to pay to get ourselves and the bus to Honolulu. Depending on who is negotiating with the smugglers (hopefully the ever-charming Silk), it shouldn't cut too badly into our budget. Cargo ship or cargo zeppelin, either way easily be able to fit the bus into their manifest.

From what Rockopolis said, we could even use something similar to get from Honolulu to the island. I'm not sure what Chrona and Rockopolis resolved in PMs, but this could also be a relatively easy travel depending on how we're planning on having the vehicles treated on the island.

As for handling the vehicles on the island, there hasn't been any word from the GM saying no (or even discouraging) either:
  • finding what the unfinished facility is using for vehicles, getting Gaunt's bus and the jeep to blend in, then getting them falsely registered in the vehicle pool
  • having the vehicles included in our reservation-approved equipment... if a fake reservation looks official enough and passes scrutiny, the sheer inertia of corporate beaureaucracy should have their personnel not questioning why we have our own vehicles. It's the, "obviously someone higher up the food chain approved this, and I'm just following orders," effect.

Then say something IC to get this thing moving!

Silk already suggested getting started by sending the first group (Juicer, Nomad & Juicer) to the island and the second group (LK and Gaunt) to Honolulu.
Only thing remaining is our cover. We either need SINs matching our job, or come up with something we can use our current ID's for.
Silk's got "lawyer" on her SIN, so she could be in the group for a multitude of reasons.
What do you guys have?
Or do we all buy new SIN's? (In which case, journalism wouldn't be too bad, I suppose. Still concerned about them keeping a closer eye on a journalist than say, anyone else :p)

Did what I could. I haven't done more to push the IC thread faster because Juicer lacks the resources for most of the legwork in this case. He's awesome once he gets on the island.

Juicer's SIN is for a private security consultant. He'll also try to fit into whatever cover the team members setting up the actual reservation decide to give him.

I agree with your media-oriented cover concerns. Brings in too much attention. I still say we have Silk be an Important Person With Important Friends, and the rest be her security detail, personal handlers and expediters, and wilderness experts. If we keep the story uncomplicated and focused on the face, that means the person who will have to bullshit and fast-talk the most will be the one most suited for it.
