Name & Alias Mary O'Brien / Marionette
Metatype Irish-American Human
Born 2054 Sex Female Height 5'0"  Build Slight Nationality American

Description  A street-rat turned into a weaponized cyborg for underworld blood-sport, Marionette escaped her handlers and has taken to the shadows. Unfortunately, she went AWOL with over a half-million nuyen of bleeding edge chrome... and her former "caretakers" want it back.

Marionette spent most of her life as little better than a child-soldier... Only instead of fighting a war on behalf of some crackpot dictator, she did it as part of a game-show. Dark entertainment for people too jaded by the less-lethal gel rounds and shock weapons of the official Urban Brawl league. Marionette's "caretakers" used her in a version of the sport that used live ammo, sharp blades, and no holds barred.

If you can find her (and if you can afford her) she'll put her skills to use on your behalf.

Neat.
I think you could save some karma by upgrading strength from 1 to 2, instead of body 3 to 4.
Also upgrading willpower to 3 with karma, instead of intuition with 4
You could use the saved karma to buy Con skill with karma instead of a  skill point. This would free up your skill point to add to one of the others.
You wouldnt need contacts with imagelinks, as you have cyber eyes.
Nor trodes because of the datajack,  I think?

I think your fixer connection is too high sadly :/

Would be nice if you could fit some nice utility gadgets in some of those limbs :)

The contacts, trodes, and whatnot were part of bundled gear packages in the Excel character generator. I’ll tweak those when I finalize the build... It’s a pretty minor amount of nuyen.

The formula cost for those packages should list each individual item cost in order so hopefully it’s easy enough to track what you want to omit!

On the other hand, having a spare set of image-link contacts or trodes on hand, in case anyone needs them isn’t the worst thing in the world. The cost is negligible and they can just get tossed in a glove-box...

Build Notes: Incorporated many of DigitalZombie's suggestions for a more efficient build. Slightly better skills, but with a slight drop in Initiative. Still need to do a little bit of "clean up" on the gear, but the essentials are all in place.

Cool. I agree on your trodes, imagelink stuff etc. Just wanted to make sure it wasnt a misunderstanding in the rules.

Sadly I believe it requires at least 5 ranks in a skill, before you can add a speciality to it. :-\

Edit:
Zerosum is correct :)

You're thinking of Expertise;

Quote from: SR6 p.68
While a specialization can be learned for any skill, there are two prerequisites for an expertise: frst, you need to have a specialization in that area; and second, your related skill rank needs to be at least 5.

Trodes, contacts with imagelink, AR gloves, etc are all redundant when you have a Datajack. The Datajack grants you DNI, which is all you need to experience full AR; if you do not have trodes, or a form of Datajack (datajack, control rig, cyberjack), you need an imagelink and a soundlink to "see" AR. I would drop them, personally, as they serve no real mechanical purpose since you already have a Datajack.

Honestly, it's a solid character. No legality issues that I can spot, and good focus on primary role. Kudos for making cyberlimbs work.

Hhm actually, the only thing Im worried about now is the cybertorso.
I presume it has strength/agility 2?
I think its only the cyberskull that is exempted from the attribute stuff.

If so, that could be an issue on some tests.

I’m hard-pressed to think of any skill tests that would involve only the torso... Hula hooping, maybe?

I could see some gymnastics movements relying largely on the flexibility of the torso.

That’s going to be a “GM Call,” I think. My previous group never would have played it that way, but I’ll have a talk with the new group.
