"Don't care how, as long as it goes down before we lose limbs. But I was thinking how much pet baby dino's would sell for on the Black Market..."

"That's what DMSO is for, sweety. That said, I really don't have nearly enough ammo to start big shootouts, I assume we all want to avoid those, right?"
Silk realised they hadn't discussed that part yet. She could have gotten involved with a bunch of trigger happy mercenaries. While that could be useful when attacked, not being attacked in the first place was still a lot better. Wouldn't be a good start of a reputation either.

Well I got manabolts...Pretty silent and pretty good to put someone asleep...permanenty.
I can possibly even disable a drone using lightnings. But, well, I never thought about non-lethal takedown of a dinosaur... sounds like a fun...that kind of fun that would be fun to watch someody trying...from the safe distance. How many tranquilizer it takes to put asleep genecrafted biological tank?

"If we do try our hands at live capture, we should be very careful about how we use it. These dinos haven't been seen in millions of years. We have no idea how they might react to "safe" animal tranqs and sedatives."

Speaking of chems...

"I think we should also be worried about genetweaking. Your report said these scientists patched up the damaged dinosaur genome segments with fragments from present day species? Frogs, birds, reptiles? Could anything stop them from inserting the latest designer neurotoxin into the salivary glands?"

The bus swerved slightly but it regained control quickly, Gaunt had jumped out of his seat at Nomad's suggestion.

"I-I fragging hope not!"

Nomad settled into his seat, trying to ignore the sudden jostling. Must've been a bump or something, he reasoned. Since they still had a few people to pick up, he decided to pass the time in a productive manner: hacking. As he shifted over to VR, he sent a message to his teammates on the bus:

"Alright, I'm going to start doing some more research into the island itself. Any requests?"

Well, sure as haell we would need some good plan to get this bus to that island. Maybe you should look for some logistic informations: how are they supplied and by who...just for the beginning. Iwould also like to ask you all, if you think, that we are able to work in independent squads in multiple areas, if needed. What are your opinions to this? If you would agree, we should set up at least two formations, that are able to act in most necessary ways.

"I'll look into it. As for splitting us up, I don't think we should decide that now. Instead we should form our teams when the need arises and assign team members based on the situation."

Nomad left his physical body behind for the moment, suffusing himself in the Resonance, the constant ebb and flow of the data. Wanting to accelerate his search a little, he concentrated, reaching into the resonance around him for guidance, catching data, assembling, refining it into an improved form that he could use in his search. He had the vague impression of a dull throb in his brain, but he could handle that. Especially since his hangover seemed to vanish after that healing spell.

They spent most of the day sitting in the bus, chatting about life in general while Nomad hung slouched in one of the seats. They needed answers, needed them desperately if they wanted to have any chance of success.
When Nomad finally returned to his senses and relayed what he'd found, Silk was slightly disappointed. Not in his searching, but the results weren't everything she'd hoped for.
"Well, unless anyone has anything else, this is what we have to build plans on. Any suggestions? Looks like we'll have a lot of work on the ground."
She hated the thought of having to split the group, but from what she'd gathered so far, they'd need to send an exploratory group -with barely any equipment- first to figure out how to get the rest and their equipment there... She had no doubt in which of the two groups she'd be and didn't like the idea of entering their target's homeground unprepared and unequipped. Someone come up with a better idea, please.

I think the big deal would be to transport our equipement arcoss Pacific. I rmcall that the greatest port in the area is Honolulu. Shouldnt we start with shipping this bus to some cargoship and move there? We should get some more info from locals, also, but the are complete strangers, so it should take some time. Maybe we should split the party, if we have an oportunity to get Dino ride tickets from Johnson, and someone should go there in advance and make the onsite recon. Ill feel alos more comfortable when I have time to do astral survey of the island before I land there, so I should use some place closer to that island...So Ill stay with the Gaunt and the bus. Do we have any other negotiator amongst us? Silk is the best of us in obtaining the info on spot...I suppose.
But if we are going to negotiate with locals smugglers in Polynesia, talent like this should also come handy. Anyone able? Tenzin perhaps? You seem calm and cool as hell so I think you would be able to convience them that it is their best interrest to cooperate with us :)
Nomad, How do you feel about going right in the middle of enemy territory? Would it help you to be on site, when you dealing with their communications and data networks?

Data coursed and seethed around nomad. Information swirled all around him; his living persona sifted through the mass almost on autopilot. He didn't need to think, to see. An undercurrent of resonance thrummed through the data, through patterns, constantly refining the parameters of the search, passing files to the team as fast as he found them.

Hours later he disengaged from the matrix, groggily sitting up and stretching. His stomach rumbled, his throat was bone dry and his neck was stiff from resting at an awkward angle. He stood, awkwardly, and realized through a haze of sleep deprivation that LK was asking him something.

"Hm? Oh... Yeah... I guess. Sure." he mumbled, before shambling off to the rear of the bus, where he vaguely remembered a bathroom.

Bleh. Reality. Can't stand it.

Juicer's eyebrows raise and he breaks out of his laid-back lounging to get animated for a moment. "We're not transporting any critters off the island. You think there's a thriving black market for dinos? Not only would that be a crazy amount of risk, it'd give the Azzies a giant flashing sign to who fragged up their pretty safari island."

He relaxes back into his seat, nodding to LochKid. "We definitely need to start on logistics for this bus and the rest of our gear. It sounds like we can get a corp tourist reservation set up for our crew. Using Honolulu for a layover, that would mean two legs of transportation on the way in. Honolulu to the island shouldn't be too much of a problem as long as we tie it to reserved tickets... corp boys like their toys, and having most of our stuff covered as safari gear should work. Our hacker extraordinaire should be able to figure out what we can bring as part of our reservation.

Getting to Honolulu could be a bit trickier. I can check with my MET buddies and see if we can get some low-key transportation. Not sure how much it would cost, but it's an option. They don't have any heavy action going on in that area, so they shouldn't have any concern about us doing something that would conflict with one of their contracts. They've been discrete and provided transport for me in the past, for the right price.

We should avoid splitting into multiple parties, and we should avoid any loud distractions on our way in. It will be a lot easier to slip away from a registered group of tourists than to get covertly inserted on the island ahead of time, and our recon would benefit from having some legal cover. I'm the best you can get at long-range recon - hell, I spent a month drekking about alone in the jungles of Hainan - but I'm not going in early and under the radar to an island with no land-based extraction route. Someone wants to pay for me to have at least two ways to bug out from the island on my own, I'll consider getting dropped in early."
