Well, at least it's not at a point where people are counting on him.  I've sort of run into that circumstance... it's pretty crappy.

By the way guys, having assensed the guy's signature, Dizzy can picture it at any time and can send a Spirit out on a Search task to find the guy.  So long as he's not behind a massive mana barrier (like in his magic lodge) or huge distances away, it'll only take about a half hour to reacquire McPherson with magic if he shakes us.

As of now, if any violence breaks out, my plan is to use the spirit to possess the bouncer, use the bouncer to subdue the target and use stunball to shut down the guy's followers.

I have a couple of ideas of my own, my thought is to act like my ride gave me a heads-up to possible vandalism/tracking as well and use that as a means to talk to the guy or con him into letting me get close.

Or just subdue him and stuff him in a trunk.

Smiley wasn't out of the bar yet when the scene with the elf and Vincent parting ways ended though he was just about to the door.

Cheri Ostler is just a club owner as far as you know, all be it a club with strange magical happenings, so I'm not sure what contacting her is going to get you.

She is a mage and a club owner, just taking advantage of the mage half, hoping she has heard something useful about the Full Moon or explain how fake enchanting would work and how powerful Mcpherson might be to do it.  Not expecting much, if anything, but wanted to try.  Plus, there is bonus points in the fact that she is a girl ;)

No if you read the blurb in Seattle 2072 it says though the current owner isn't magically active she has an interesting aura.

Actually it's her cat that has the aura, nvm the rest, it was the elf part that was her "other half", my bad.  Skip that then.

Question, as I'm not entirely sure. Can our mark actually recognize all our astral signatures from walking about? I mean the club was for the awakened so wouldnt it be like trying to recognize everyone from walking into a club or bar?

Once seen, a person's aura can be forever recognized with 2 hits on an assensing test.  It's etched into memory in a way that faces and such are not.

By the way, Walks, do you want to apply standard perception bonuses and penalties to assensning?  Stuff like "far away" or "actively looking" etc.  Background Count and FAB grenades are basically the same as vision modifiers, so there are analogs across the board.

We will use some sort of modifiers when appropriate, but far away has a different meaning in astral space.

The other thing to remember is that with assensing is that it is an opposed test if the being that is assensed has masking metamagic or a similar power

Just a bit about my GMing style since it is harder to portray in PbP.

1) I emphasis role playing over roll playing. Because of this I try to describe the scene in detail and include things that don't necessarily mean anything to what is going on (or will set up something in the future). Also I try to include multiple senses to give it a more realistic feel.

2) Though you are all the center of the story that doesn't mean that there aren't things out there that you don't know about, have access to, or once you know wish you could be oblivious to again.

3) I am looking towards building an ongoing campaign type setting. Characters will come and go I'm sure and the possibility of changing out some characters from run to run could a bit more seamless in PbP. Because of this ongoing play I will send out mixed info, things that could side track you or even out and out red herrings. Sometimes they will mean something later, but often they won't. (Also just because it is done more than once doesn't mean it is important.)

4) I believe that negative qualities are important and should be played. I will reward you for staying in character especially when it isn't what is best for you, but what your character would most likely do.

5) I am playing to have fun, and hope you all have fun also. If there is something I do or rule and you think it is wrong or don't understand it I will be happy to discuss it with you (as long as it doesn't ruin a plot line, and then I will talk about it after the plot line is resolved)

I think that is all for now. I hope everyone is enjoying it so far.

Loki on the program Kage is looking for based on a rating 6 program this is what you are looking at:

Hacking program rating 6      availability 12                 cost 6,000 nuyen
Mute option                           availability +2                 cost 4,500 nuyen
optiminization 2                     availability +2(or 4 depending on interpretation of rules)  cost 4,500 nuyen
the other option                     availability +2                cost 4,500 nuyen

So you are looking at a base availability of 14 at a cost of 10,500 nuyen. This means that your time frame for checks is 1 week
With the other added options (being nice and only adding 2 for optiminization) you are at a base availability of 18 and cost of 19,500 nuyen.

You make this check as a negotiation + charisma test since you are using a contact you are using swag through him so you have his charisma + negotiation + connection rating. Since it is through hacker house I will give some extra dice and since you are offering a favor for low risk he will even use edge. So lets say you get up to 20 dice. Now you can spend extra money to add dice and speed things up at a rate of 1 die for an extra 25% up to 10 extra dice (which would increase the cost by 250% to 36,750 nuyen at your base to 67,250 nuyen for the tricked out version)

Now say you go for the gusto and spend the money for the 10 dice you now have 30 dice to get 18 successes to be able to get it in 1 week. I'll say for each 2 more successes you can shave a day off the time frame. The after getting it down to 1 day for 5 more successes can get it to your 1 hour time frame. So lets see you would need 35 successes to get what you want as fast as you want. Here is a test roll:

30d6.hits(5) → [5,6,4,4,5,3,5,1,3,4,1,4,1,3,1,5,3,5,2,3,1,4,5,4,4,2,3,3,3,1] = (7)
With only 1 6 to reroll you can see that you aren't going to get to the 35 total you need.

So decide what you really need or are willing to sacrifice to get down your availability and I'll have your contact check if they can get it in time for you

Wow, I totally had no idea getting stuff mid run was such a PITA.
Looking over the program options, I had the cost of the mute option wrong in my head, but so do you so I don't feel so bad.  :) It's 750/rating with unrated options figured at rating 3 so 2,250. The other two are general options going for 100/rating and +1 avail. So 8,750 total which, after the 20% to the contact, I can't afford.

Gotta read the avail rules to better grasp how they work and see if I can swing this.

Edit: Bah that's a frustrating, the best I can get is a 2 day frame. Guess I have to wait to get it as I've no desire to waste cash on a lower rated program and the avail is still decent on anything at my current programs level..
