Kickz texts to the team link:
@Team: Yo' Kage. Anything you can do to slow him up if he leaves by car would be appreciated, but a far trip would be unreasonable for me to follow...you know I might run out of buildings.

[OOC: figured Kage would just watch him on the grid and with traffic cams.  Dizzy would try to follow from the astral in case he tries any illusions.  Either way, we figure out his most likely destination and the ground crew heads there at their own pace.  Staying out of LoS of a mage is pretty much your top priority.  Mean time, I should have had plenty of time to check out his top 5 destinations on the astral.]

>>Best plan I got, any adjustments team?

Only suggestion is to do at least one swap of Rat for Kickz, just in case Vinnie might be wondering if he has a tail. We don't want to wait until he's sure to swap out followers.

@ Team: That is doable but will raise alarms if I have to mess with traffic too much Kickz. Having studied it for a few, his gridlink use history doesn't indicate he spoofs new identities mid trip, so if y'all stay out of sight few blocks back and follow by gridlink feed we should be good.

@Team => If you can keep tabs on that instant presto-chango car then we're golden.

OK a couple quick things here. First Dizzy will be able to astrally check out all of the locations before Mr. McPherson leaves. Kickz wouldn't be able to keep up by going building to building because parts of the drive are on interstate and other roads that don't really have any traffic lights. If Kage decides he wants to try and change traffic patterns he will have to hack into the controlling node on gridlink and that looks like a beast from the outside.

As you all think back as he leaves the parking lot you realize that the car never changed again after the alarm was set off. It looked like the Westwind  3000 when the alarm started and stayed that way for the hour that Vincent was back in the bar. Also Kage found that the registration ID was for a Eurocar Westwind 3000.

So are you staying back and letting gridlink track him or are you physically keeping him in sight. Also how many vehicles and who in which one(s)

(OOC) Since we have an idea of where he's likely to go, our best bet is probably to track him through the grid and have us muggles follow at a distance. Once he arrives at where ever he's going, we can make a swing by to verify he's there and then contact Mr. Johnson. Thoughts?

Dizzy astrally projects and is off to Auburn. She watches the scenery of the drab city fly by as she heads out to Auburn. The fleeting seconds of joy and brightness flickers of color in the drab background of Seattle. After a couple of minutes of going around the block and getting your bearings you figure out which one is the apartment complex. Not knowing which apartment is the right one you go through the building. There are five families which you quickly discount. Three more are currently vacant, and there are two that have mudane women, one that has a magically active female of very low power and the last one is a male of a bit of magical ability. You don't find any wards or obvious signs of a magical lodge or cirlce.

Off to Everett and you again watch the grey drudgery go by. As you are entering Everett the background seems to get a bit more upbeat. You find the duplex without much trouble. It is empty though it seems to have some magical residue in both houses. You see a roving spirit keeping guard, but are able to keep out of its sight and then you find a ward in the middle of the house somewhere that is greater in strength than your magical ability. Deciding it is time to head off to the final location you head out.

With the lake to guide you it is a simple task to find the duplex in Bellevue. You are approaching the building and see there are at least two spirits patrolling the area and you also notice a dual natured human though you cannot place the aura in the brief glimpse you get.

Let me know what you are going to do. If you want to pause anywhere and look around more let me know.

(That free-running is going to be great to track some folks, who is going to think to check rooftops to see if they are being followed? )

Okay anyway, so we are going to have Rat and Kickz alternate between visual shadowing in vehicles, let's say two turns or five miles and they swap.  I suck at shadowing, so I will be a back-up.  Try to keep him in sight and be ready to leapfrog in so he never has a chance to get spooked.

[OOC: as far as additional actions, I'd like to try and Assense the powerful astral ward in the Bellview complex to see if I can recognize McPherson's signature on it.  9d6.hits(5) → [1,5,2,5,3,5,2,4,5] = (4)]

Wary of the security she had seen by the lake, Dizzy stayed low as she zipped back to her body waiting in the cab.  In the mean time, she communicated with the part of her mind she had sent with Rat.
Show me what you see.  The images of the astral elsewhere began to flow into Dizzy's mind.
When she was sure that no strangers were around, she commanded the little Watcher to manifest and tell them of the things she saw while away.

Dizzy looks over the ward and you are almost positive that it is McPherson's signature, but something looks slightly different about it. (if you can convince me that one of your skills should apply you can make a roll to try and figure it out) You get back to your body and don't see any signs of having been followed.

Rat and Kickz will need to make shadowing rolls for me then since they are following and keeping him in sight between them. Since you are alternating and taking precautions I'll give you each a +2 dice to your rolls.

After driving for what seems like an eternity as you switch back and forth keeping in contact with each other and just keeping him in sight you see him turn onto Talcom street. A quick check of the Seattle mapsoft in the car tells you that the apartment complex is just a couple of blocks down the street.

Let me know what you are doing from here. How far away are you parking who is going where and such.

Rat - rolling Shadowing w/ +2 ... 7d6.hits(5)=1

Hmm.. not bad, but not exactly my day either.

[OOC:  No... that's... that's bad.   :-\
Shadowing is opposed by perception, so all he needs is one hit to see you following him.  Maybe 2.  depends if you consider the Shadowing character to be defending against a guy's perception or if you think the guy's perception is being used to defend against the shadow.
I'd use edge to reroll missed dice.  It should net you about 2 more hits.]

Kage's search about your Mr. Johnson comes back:

His name is Jon Altenburg, and he hails from the CAS. The current address given for him is in Atlanta. He at one time worked for the CAS version of the FBI until he was ushered out when he became "extremely paranoid and unbalanced". Of particular note was the fact that he accused several higher government officials of being "HMHVV infected" without enough proof. He was suspected of trying to murder one of them though charges were never formally filed. He now works as a bounty hunter and specializes in the retrieval of the magically active.

Rat parks about two blocks away and watches Vincent walk from the small parking lot to the door of the building. He uses a keycard to scan himself in and disappears into the building. Kickz and Smiley are parked about two blocks further back where they can just see Rat's car.

OOC Let me know what the plan is from here. (I still need the shadowing roll from Kickz)
