Well, we all know that the Shadows are different depending on where you go.  And, often the brighter and hotter the sun, the darker the shadows!

But, in Corporate LA, Shadowrunning is a big time media event!!!

So what wonderful adventures have you entertained the Wageslaving masses in LA?

For myself, my group's most infamous (And only one actually in LA) adventure involved extracting Goofy from DisneyLand.

Or, rather, a guy in a Goofy outfit.  He was an expert in Robotics that also performed for the children as his favorite character.  Well, another Corp wanted his Robotics Expertise, so...  Shadowrunners were hired to extract him, and to put a good show on doing it!

What strange and wonderful things has LA brought to your groups?

My group did two runs in LA as part of Emergence. My favorite part, by far, was the random magic table from California Free State. It really shook up magic in combat and even in asking spirits to do one's laundry.
My players enjoyed the boat vs. helicopter chase scene over the Laguna ala Miami Vice, even if four of my player were born after the show was canceled.
I also really enjoyed contrasting West Hollywood with the Barrens of LA, like the San Fernando Valley. Having glitzy Hollywood star-frager clubs that take a 1,000 nuyen bribe to get into in one scene and an unedited NWA video the next. It sets a different tone than Seattle, because even if one has never been to LA, because of film and television, it's stereotypes are ubiquitous.

My lady friend's favorite part was wondering why the runners had their faces blurred in footage from a shoot out and being told by a near by transgendered prostitute "You think they'll put your po-dunk face on TV? Honey, free publicity like that ain't cheap!"

For me, that's the best part about Running in L.A. ... forget the media highlights and Hollywood and Disney! Shadowrunning is a dirty business, so let's get to dirty business! Chases in the barrens, island-dwelling gangs, boat chases and dormant Leviathans (we had a player with the quality) are things that made L.A. enjoyable for me, as a GM.

But then, I'm way too fond of Seattle to drop it, so now we moved north.
